Got to love it. AEW is slowly turning into WWE lite. One of the things most people got excited about AEW was their use of indy and maybe not as well known talents, who were making noise around the world....everyone was going to be paid the same as well LOL. A good portion of their "top talent" is now former WWE guys. Cant wait till the next PPV when their matches include such top young talent such as a 50 year old Big show, a 60 year old STING, a 50 year old Chris Jericho, 35 year old Moxley, 37 year old Omega, 43 year old Archer..and lets not forget a 40 some year old out of shape basketball player who is probably getting paid more for 1 appearance than some of the lower dudes have all year Also...what happened to all talents being paid the same? I will miss the old AEW Mate, did you just call Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega washed up has-beens? Tell me this was a f***ing joke. My God... Oh, it is.

Never expected Big Show to be a non-WWE guy again, so that's wild as hell.

I will miss the old AEW I'm 33, guess it's time for me to retire! Let's go line by line though this one: -- 50 year-old Big Show: will wrestle a handful of times, will commentate and agent. For some of the bigger guys like Wardlow or hell, even Archer, this is valuable. -- 60 year old Sting: Legendary name wrestling in an attraction match at a show. Don't know that it's a big deal. -- 50 year old Chris Jericho: Big name they built around in year one, has become a supporting player since then and is working with young talent. -- Moxley and Omega: They're not old. -- 43 year old Archer: Archer hasn't worked a full-time schedule in a long time and he can GO. I said this in a post over on the WWE side of things and I'll reiterate it here: times have changed. The age goalposts have also moved thanks to modern medicine, changes in lifestyle and admittedly, probably more sophisticated performance enhancing drugs. A 45 year old Hollywood Hogan is not the same as a 43 year old Archer. AEW has utilized all of these older names right to date, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here.

Mate, did you just call Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega washed up has-beens? Tell me this was a f***ing joke. My God... People expecting AEW to basically be PWG with a national TV deal are irrationally heated these days 🤦🏼♂️ Which cracks me up, because there's no doubt at all that, if PWG had the resources to bring in someone like a Sting or a Big Show, they would absolutely do it. Super Crazy, RVD, Muta, and Liger weren't exactly spring chickens when they wrestled there in like 2010.

Mate, did you just call Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega washed up has-beens? Tell me this was a f***ing joke. My God... I just want to know what "The Old AEW" is. Cuz Jericho, Moxie and Omega have been main events from Day damn one. You may be too young to remember the original AEW but it was just as revolutionary back in the 30's. They introduced the concept of ropes and their top babyface Kenneth James Alpha has an all-time classic hour long bout with Darbonious Allens. They shut their doors when WWI broke out, but their legacy lives on.

AEW has utilized all of these older names right to date, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here. AEW got me to care about Taz. I know the feud with his team and Darby isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but it feels like he’s having an absolute blast as a manager and commentator and I thought his lasting legacy was for having a crappy WWE run and “Is it hot in here or is it just me?”

I had no idea that AEW was supposed to be the Logan's Run of wrestling. The moment you turn 35, the red blinking light on your hand goes off and you have to report to Carousel never to wrestle again.

As someone who prefers wwe/nxt and rarely ever watches AEW. I will say, good for Big Show & AEW. WWE has barely used him these past few years and if he's more useful to AEW that is great for all parties.

The World Health Organization defines Ageism as the stereotyping and discrimination against individuals or groups on the basis of their age. Ageism can take many forms, including prejudicial attitudes, discriminatory practices, or institutional policies and practices that perpetuate stereotypical beliefs. Older people deserve to be allowed to work without bigots saying they're too old for what they do. You want to critique someone's spot, fine, but saying no one over a certain age should be working or deserves their spot is discrimination. I'm not answering the person who posted it, but I think people should generally understand aging is difficult and many times in our society it's harder to find work and establish ourselves in our chosen businesses. I think it's absolutely overboard and pretty tacky to call anything happening in this thread bigotry or discrimination.

But I don't need to see him wrestle. Just chokeslam the jobbers and that's it

Lance Archer is 43 and he arguably entered the prime of his career two years ago.

Saying people shouldn't have their spots because of their age is discriminatory. As an activist for the aging, I think saying that my beliefs are "tacky or overboard" is super nice. www.who.int/bulletin/volumes/96/4/17-202424/en/If you'd like to learn more about Ageism's largely implicit and subconscious nature.

Do you think Meltzer keeps AEW spoilers/surprises secret because he's buddies with the people in charge and wants to keep having them as guests on his shows and stuff or he legit doesn't know about this stuff until it's announced? Because it's weird that he wouldn't have known about stuff like Sting coming in, Big Show being in negotiations or KENTA showing up that night but the second they happen he immediately goes into details about how it all came about behind the scenes. On the other hand, he just straight up spoils WWE stuff ahead of time if he gets the info (most recently reporting immediately after the Rumble that Edge was facing Roman at WM). My guess is he gets scoops directly from AEW as opposed to having to get them from anonymous sources. That access usually comes with some kind of press embargo.
