Has Roman ever experience any genuine comeuppance this run? I think he got laid out once or twice in the build for the triple threat WM match with Edge and Bryan and a bit in the build for the Edge one-on-one match, otherwise not much. It also depends on what you deem "genuine comeuppance", because to some people, simply being hit with finishers and laid out isn't enough.

Has Roman ever experience any genuine comeuppance this run? He's barely even experienced a plotline that's remotely challenged him as a character.

His reign hasn’t jumped a shark, it’s jumped all 6 Sharknados.

You know, going into that match I was thinking "OK, Finn's probably going to get distracted by Usos and get speared then 1,2,3", you know, like almost every Roman match.
Good on WWE for thinking outside of the box and coming up with THAT bullshit.

I've been plenty willing to defend this run for Roman, but not that ending. f*** that shit.

Here’s the biggest flaw in the Roman stuff. For as well as WWE has done in building up Roman. They have done a TERRIBLE job of building the rest of the roster around him. It’s JUST been him, and no one has really been elevated bu feuding with him.
And now it’s gotten to the point where whenever he feuds with a full time guy, it feels like filler until they bring in the next part-timer/legend for him to face (and also beat).
They is not upward progression here.

He just steals any momentum that the full timers have and it's all building to that match with the Rock at Wrestlemania and I don't know what happens, the title will probably be on the line but you can't put the title on the Rock because he won't be there a month afterwards, hell he probably won't even be there a fortnight afterwards. So Roman will beat him and then what?

The shark was jumped when The Referee had to stop the count in the last man standing match with Owens because they literally couldn't un-handcuff Reigns to stand up lmfao
This is Jumping the Megalodon at this point.

I know how much you all love my points and stats, so here's something that should grab your attention. Reigns is on track for having one of the highest single-year scores in this entire project. In my match score category, which combines with the appearance scores to get the total score for the year, this is the current top 10 best scores in a single year:
Reigns, with three months left to score, is already on 507.50. I don’t think Sheamus in 2012 is within reach, dude was winning two or three TV matches every week at that point, but the podium is within reach.
(For what it's worth, the lowest score in this category this year so far... Elias on -85.69)

I'm numb to it at this point. Next match is lose lose just like this one was. Except blood money is involved.

At this point this has gotta be the most damaging, creatively stifling title reign since Triple H's Reign of Terror, right? If not worse, since H's reign only lasted 9 months. I mean say what you will about Cena (and lord knows I have) but at least his 05-06 and 06-07 tile reigns weren't based on making the audience perpetually miserable. He was a dominant babyface conquering all challengers and ostensibly sending the crowd home happy.

I think Roman's more enjoyable than the Triple H reign was, but yeah, it's been pretty creatively bankrupt. I also don't think it's helping that the Usos are seen as being rewarded for the DUI, on account of WWE saw the DUI and said, "here's a reward".

There is still plenty of people for Roman to feud with to keep this reign going but I’m not sure if I trust WWE to build these guys up to his level.
Drew Priest Rollins Nakamura Morrison Hardy Riddle Orton (not overly keen on this to be honest just don’t think it would be a decent match, there others haven’t been) Big E (Option is still there if Big E loses the title soon) Lashley Keith Lee Styles Kross (again not that I’m keen) Bron Breakkkkkkker WALTER (imagine) & obviously The Rock
The issue as well is not many guys that have feuded with Roman in this run have come out of it well in the long run. Edge & Bryan maybe the only ones because they are both so talented. Cena is bulletproof. Cesaro has fallen off a cliff again. KO is never getting the title again and seems directionless. Bray & Braun…er yeah o dear.
