Wow, that's something that CWFh and NWA ended their association. No top level wrestling company was hurt by the pandemic as NWA. California shut down all wrestling in early March and didn't restart until August. I understand wrestlers leaving. They have to earn a living and the uncertainty of when their ability to do it caused a lot to leave and go to organizations in states were wrestling continued. CWFH was also effected but at least they have t.v. deals and a 10 year archive. NWA was really screwed but to lose not only a pipeline to wrestlers but Dave Marquez's production background and connections is brutal. CWFH might not have as many top tier talent as they did before the pandemic started but they still have JordanClear3water, Danny Limelight,Kevin Martenson not mention the wrestlers in the United Wrestling Network. Guess this 4explains why they were bringing in Tyrus.

How and why did Aldis and Marquez no longer have a working relationship? Not a clue. All I know is Marquez was never invited back for Powerrr and was blocked by Aldis on Twitter. Rumor among wrestlers seems to be Aldis big leagued Marquez

It seems like it’s WWE, AEW, Impact, ROH, MLW, then NWA. And for reasons you pointed out NWA may not even have that number six spot anymore.

Not the first or second time Marquez had a falling out with the NWA. Might be a sign.

GCW and a few other indies probably have a stronger claim to the #6 spot, especially financially. The NWA has a lot of name recognition and the perception that it matters (especially since Powerrr was well-received at first), but I think they are losing that perception very rapidly.

Pre Pandemic you could say the NWA would be argument to being behind Impact. They had a roster of notable names and young talent. But most of them have left. When they lost Starks, James Storm, Eli Drake, Mr. Anderson, and so forth. The only thing the NWA has for them is the AEW show casing the womens title. But I believe Serena is an AEW signed talent. Thunder Rosa been more on AEW than NWA. Plus when things came out how well little the NWA paid talent it just not as strong it was. They have a solid World Champion in Aldis but the guy been champion for 2 years plus now. They could use a fresh face on top. Yes I get it he champion because he a reliable hand. Still you need to create buzz at some point.

Rumor among wrestlers seems to be Aldis big leagued Marquez If that's the case I shake my head. People here have outlined how the NWA may be the littlest "big league" out there. Impact, ROH, MLW, GCW, and quite possibly even NJ-Strong and others have better holds in the US among indies than NWA right now. I hope NWA pulls things together as everything opens up. But as I've said before they need to find fresh talent to build around ASAP. Imagine NWA Champ Trevor Murdoch defending the Title against Tyrus. That isn't out of the question right now.

The new car smell that Power had was wearing off even before the pandemic.

Said it before but it seems like the only reason Aldis has had a 1000 day reign is because he's the only one who actually wants the title.

I’d actually put NWA #5 just because of their connection to AEW.
With Aldis having heat with Starks and Dice for getting over, and the contacts being garbage, I can see rising talent not wanting to work there.
Even the guys they did borrow from CWfH like Boogie or Clearwater they are not even doing much with. I’m one the few fans of Crimson and Jax Dane (they’re my local guys) but even I think new talent like Parrow and Spray paint mouth dude should have went over them.

The End are the only new guys that I've been impressed with (everyone seems to like Clearwater but as you say they haven't shown him enough to really tell). They have a million big hoss dudes who are all basically the same but Odinson actually seems like he can go.

Clearwater is a star and Slice Boogie is in is the bodega with Danny Limelight (you’ve probably seen him in AEW) a really great tag team. Then there’s guys like Gentle Jarvis and Levi Sapporo it’s probably a better hour of wrestling than NWA is most weeks.

I don’t understand where anything in NWA is going.
That’s not a good sign.

So the card for When Our Shadows Fall has been revealed.
NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship: Nick Aldis (c) vs. Trevor Murdoch
NWA Women’s World Championship: Serena Deeb (c) vs. Kamille
NWA Tag Team Championships: Aron Stevens & Kratos (c) vs. The War Kings vs. Chris Adonis & Thom Latimer
Thunder Rosa & Melina vs. Kylie Rae & Taryn Terrell
Tyrus vs. Da Pope – There Must Be A Winner (Non-Title Match)
JTG vs. Fred Rosser
Fatal Four-Way Match: The End vs MechaWolf & Bestia 666 vs. Marshe Rockett & Slice Boogie vs. Sam Rudo & Sal Rinauro
Couple of interesting debuts like JTG & Bestia 666. Though the most interesting name is by far Kylie Rae. I know she as battle mental health issues that hindered her runs in AEW & Impact, so I really hope that being in a company the size of the NWA is better for her health. Looks like a decent card. Hopefully the new people brought in can show up and help the NWA. I think JTG is the type of talent who just needs a chance to show how good they are.

If Kylie can stay active she is a great addition to their women's division which is far and away the NWA's strength at this point.

Sounds like a solid enough card, though Adonis going for the tag belts instead of defending the NA title is a touch odd. Ah well.
I do wonder with Trevor. Like, does he win it, you figure? Aldis really, desperately needs to pass the baton before the NWA has any chance or getting momentum again. A title change would get people talking.

Adonis vacated the National title in order to enter the #1 contender battle royal. I completely agree with you that Aldis needs to drop the title but I just don't see it happening.

And yeah, I am not super confident in Trevor's chances. I just think Aldis and Billy need to be realistic and know when to say "when" on this.
