Gonna need them to make a Britt Baker figure with three variants. On in regular gear, one when she had the bloody nose, and one with the crimson mask.

For the sake of comparison,I still prefer Ryo vs Shida(obviously the feud itself Rosa vs Baker was much better) ,but the fact we had two at least close to 5 stars womans matchs in a month, involving different woman, tells a lot about the growth of the division.

While watching it I could not believe what I was witnessing. One second you would have a moment of exclamation, followed by another one not too long after. They surpassed themselves constantly, it was amazing! I was amazed that Britt didn't pass out at any point from all that blood. And for once I actually really enjoyed a tack spot, they sorta seem silly at times but they actually used it to effect in the story of the match, which was great (Though I agree with the one earlier post that they should have been teeth... though I don't know how you do that and it might have been a bit too gross hahah).
Though I fear if Britt makes bleeding all over the place a thing for herself. The none blood parts of the match where great too, so I hope she doesn't feel she has to do stupid stuff all the time.

To be fair the first time she bled was on complete accident, she took a hard kick to the nose.

Holy f***, what a match. Not just the brutality, the flow of it. Even with the obvious downtime to set up the tables, they didn't just keep the pace, they actually got faster and more real as the match went on. Like the spot with Rosa rolling Britt into the tacks to force her to break the hold, that's stuff you never see in these types of matches cause normally when they get the thumb tacks, they dump them out, then they have 1 or 2 bumps on tacks planned and then for the rest of the match they move action match somewhere else to avoid them and it looks super obvious. But here they managed to make it look like a desperate spur of the moment strategy based totally on coincidence and opportunity.
If you told me a year ago that Dr. Britt Baker and some indie woman I hadn't even heard of yet would outperform Moxley vs Kingston or two different Moxley vs Omega matches in terms of raw violence I wouldn't have believed you but here we are. Crazy times.

This was a really good match. It's pretty funny that for awhile I kept seeing criticism of AEW for having a weak women's division. Having a women's division that is actually treated respectfully is a huge thing for me, so clearly I started watching AEW at the right time.
That being said, I'll depart from most in that I do have two criticisms:
1) I hate hate hate when a face is in any kind of no-DQ match with a heel with a helper and everyone just ignores that that obviously makes it a handicap match. It makes the face look like they either have no friends at all or are ridiculously naive. Why also wouldn't somebody run in to take out Rebel-not-Reba (what the heck is that about, anyway?) just to spite Baker, who assumedly is not beloved by the other faces? Although in this case I think a scene with someone offering to have Rosa's back and her proclaiming she knows what's going to happen but plans to take out Baker and Rebel both would've set up the situation just fine.
2) There was a really clunky segment mid-match where Rosa wandered around picking up and putting down chairs for no kayfabe reason (obviously to make the later superplex onto them more safe). Similarly, Baker and Rebel got out the table and didn't even try to use it.
Obviously these problems are outweighed by how good the match was overall, but they stuck out to me nonetheless.

Similarly, Baker and Rebel got out the table and didn't even try to use it. Obviously these problems are outweighed by how good the match was overall, but they stuck out to me nonetheless. Yeah you shoulda been here last summer, the women's division was... not pretty, due to multiple injuries and the pandemic lockdown. It really wasn't their fault, but they've well moved past that time and it's nice to see. So to answer your points from a kayfabe standpoint 1. Rosa probably asked the faces not to help her. Like Moxley, I can see Rosa having a stubborn pride. Rebel and Britt had been messing with her this whole time, she alone wanted to take both of them out. And she did 1A. Rebal-not-Reba is a running gag since her debut. Rebel is her actual name and has been her ring name since she started wrestling, like in TNA. Britt Baker however, does not seem to care enough to learn her actual name, and has always called her Reba. It's either she doesn't care enough to learn it, or it sounds better to her and since she's an egotistical type she won't call her anything else. 2. Chekov's Table is just a wrestling trope. They clearly had a plan to put Rosa through the table, but it backfired and ended up being her downfall. There have been several hardcore match instances where Tables or Ladder Bridges have been set up with intent by the set upper to use for a spot, but then the match takes several twists and turns, and it's forgotten about until someone goes through it, sometimes the very person who introduced it into the match itself. I've seen it so many times it just doesn't even phase me anymore

Oh yeah, it happens a lot, but in this case they still had the upper hand for some time afterward and never even really tried to use it (if memory serves, they set it up, then Britt stomped Rosa's head into the stairs, then the action moved elsewhere), so why set it up at all? Just seemed sloppy psychology-wise. It's not a big quibble (the chair thing was much worse, I thought), just something that stuck out to me at the time.

Kind of wish I didn’t read all about the match before I watched it. Thought it was very good but didn’t shock me or wow me considering I read about the spots in the match, and that, plus the early portion of the match (didn’t really get into high gear until the last few minutes with the thumbtacks and finish) keeps it from being a match of the year type for me. Objectively, maybe a 4 star match. I’d have to watch the Charlotte-Becky Last Woman Standing match to see if I prefer that one as far as women‘a hardcore matches go.

Either that was incredible selling or she definitely got winded near the end but soldiered through it. I mean, that was a lot of blood loss. She had to constantly tell the ref she was “fine”.

Ok so what’s next? How do u top that? You dont have to top it, you need to build off it, and continue having good quality matches, which they've been doing for basically this entire year For Baker/Rosa this is the end of their feud probably for awhile, but if can be revisted at a later time and this will be the ultimate reference point to sell it as a classic. That being said, AEW's division has the talent to continue to put out amazing matches, from a hardcore and brutal standpoint it'll be hard to top but you should save those moments and not overdo them anyway. You set bars to try and raise them later, and work towards that continued quality, and the AEW Women's Division has continued to do that so far.

Ok so what’s next? How do u top that? Ideally? They get started on something else that's maybe a little small in the short term but can build in the long term. Britt's loss here doesn't count to her record, so she still has room to move up the ladder and challenge for the title. We have a Nyla/Tay match next week that, if Tay wins, could launch a new face into the title picture as a viable title challenger...or start a brutal feud between a big monster and the tiny judoka who can throw her around. There are a few other elements that could use to be promoted or moved around. Ryo Mizunami has a wide open field of wrestlers to have good matches or feuds with - Big Swole comes to mind as someone who could clash with Ryo as a personality while benefiting from Ryo as a ring general. Tay Conti and Leyla Hirsch have lost enough on Dynamite, but are believable enough badasses in the ring, that either could have a very exciting and speedy climb to the next level. Jade is probably going to be focused on squashes in the short term until she has a singles match with Red Velvet. ...no clue what Riho does next. She was probably going to be chasing Serena Deeb, but that's out the window for another few months. She's currently just kind of existing as a good wrestler, so hopefully she can get mixed into someone's business (preferably not Nyla's since that's already been a good feud) pretty quickly. If AEW wants to give Britt a little breathing room between a big grudge match and a title match, I guess Riho can do a simple "opponent Shida hasn't beaten" challenge, but that feels a little weak after Riho lost in round two of the tournament.

Great match. All the praise.
I really wish they’d have the champ Shida get all the shine they give some others. Let her get a blood feud. Let her squash a jobber in 3 moves. Appreciate your champ AEW

Wish more shirts, especially with PWTees gave the option to choose shirt color I'm guessing because they might clash with the printed design. Otherwise I would ordered a black shirt version of the orange cassidy shirt.

And they need to build off of it independently as characters. Rosa is a beast. She’s a contender. She’s due. You have a strong champ. And as for Britt..if I had to guess, taking a lil time off to let it breathe, come back, maybe do a “accept-the-praise-before-turning-on-the-fans” thing and just go hard as a scorned heel on some poor women’s face on the roster. Or many.
