Not to be the downer but I still don't like this decision for Impact Hopefully, someone beats him decisively and clean before the summer ends I’m cautiously optimistic. I have to believe the game plan is for Kenny to do a big job at some point, likely after he drops the AEW strap, otherwise this makes no sense. As long as they still get regular access to Kenny, I think this will work out well in the end. Don and Scott aren’t stupid, they know they’re negotiating with the weak hand but I can’t see them letting AEW make fools of them either.

Best case scenario is you got Kenny there every week which will work out great for them and since this shit is taped for Impact, that shouldn't be too much of a problem Def got to be patient on the big pay off, but I do hope some Impact talent besides Gallows/Anderson start showing up on AEW cause they want their world title back

Especially since I don’t see Kenny Omega defending it that often.

I think this should have been a bigger deal but it isn't I've been down on the cross brand stuff since jump which is why I never thought the forbidden door would open because AEW has all the leverage and neither Impact nor NJPW would gain much From Callis and the boys perspective, i'm assuming because this title match took place on an Impact PPV it is a win but I feel like they are breaking even because whatever money you made from Kenny, you are missing out on a massive haul because it wasn't advertised as heavy on AEW TV

Solid shw, but probably nothing that's overall making me think "Yeah I'm going to make an effort to keep up with this". Honestly, Impact was better before they started crossbranding with AEW Things have sort of slowed down on top of losing some talent like Rascalz and Taya Valkyrie This. Impact was definitely better before this AEW crossbrand. Losing their talents didn't help any neither.

And having to replace them with some older talent or meh hasn't helped Myers has been really good in Impact. I looked forward to Heath but he got injured before he could do anything. Cardona needs to redo his whole look. James Storm is cool but he feels like an ancient relic of the past etc

The AEW Crossbrand has given Impact some of its highest ratings and PPV Buyrates in almost a decade, pending Rebellion we'll have to see, but Omega appearing on their show by himself has given Impact a lot, when he wrestles, people are paying attention. I find it hard to say the AEW Crossbrand has hurt them at all in that sense. Them losing talent and not really finding good replacements isn't on AEW it's just how things have unfortunately fallen for them. I especially feel for their women's division which went from arguably being the best women's division in wrestling to losing a ton of key talents and about to lose further ones in Grace's case. Deonna's pretty much gone on record saying she might not re-up either.

It doesn't seem like Impact is really seeing any gains when Kenny isn't around. It kind of just feels like how eventually ROH reached a point where people only cared about their shows when it came to the NJPW stuff on them.

This partnership is also still in very early stages, so it's hard to say how things will translate in the long run say a year from now, because who knows what will continue to happen between them when that time rolls around. But I don't really see AEW's cross branding with them as being a bad thing for them. I honestly don't think Impact had anything to lose and everything to gain from this and that continues to be the case. The talents leaving or getting hurt sucks though, though that's completely adjacent to anything having to do with the partnership.

Deonna's pretty much gone on record saying she might not re-up either. I wasn't implying that Impact losing talent was on AEW, it just so happened during this crossbrand. I like both AEW and Impact but if I'm big Impact fan this crossbrand has sucked so far because Impact has been made to look inferior throughout and can't even get on Dynamite yet. If I'm just seeing Impact for the first time why would I stick around after the crossbrand when they have made to look inferior from the start ? I don't think this will benefit Impact in the long run after the crosssbrand is over. Whoever Defeats Kenny for the Impact title I'm sure it will Be a fluke or heavy interference. Of course if I'm a AEW fan I'm loving this. You get to Punk a different promotion every week while your owner trashed them in commercials. It's real easy to be optimistic about this if you're an AEW fan......granted that you remembered it because Dynamite sure didn't do a good job on mentioning it.

It's real easy to be optimistic about this if you're an AEW fan......granted that you remembered it because Dynamite sure didn't do a good job on mentioning it. The commercials were a friggen joke man, I dont know what to tell you if you took those seriously but they were very clearly just a fun thing to do for a few weeks. I ain't gonna tell you how to feel though if you didn't like em. In the end Omega has to drop a belt to Impact talent, and I imagine it won't need interference when it happens, because I think when Kenny starts losing belts it's going to be a spiral for him. Also to say Impact look completely inferior I think is a bit of a disservice when The Good Brothers beat Private Party to defend their titles and have looked outright dominant in AEW. Yeah some people don't like Good Brothers, doesn't mean they dont fly the flag for Impact and haven't looked good. Fire'N'Flava were supposed to fight La Sicaria's too, but you can thank Ivelisse for that falling through. Purazzo apparently filmed promos to challenge Shida, so I hope that leads to a big match as well down the line whether or not it's for a belt. I mean I guess there's merit to being apprehensive because the crossover's been light so far, but even with it being so, Impact trended huge tonight, had their most important match of the last decade, and they've seen great buyrates and attention thanks to this Omega storyline. That's been some of their best news the last few months amid talent departures and injuries. Frankly I'm just happy to see wrestling companies open to working with each other again, it's an exciting time amid one of the worst years of many peoples lives, and I hope the future continues to be bright in that regard.

He gave an aggrandizing promo, about how they set all this up. He said that Swann considers the talent in the back his family, & he's going to lose because of that, because they won't help him. He says that tonight, he & Kenny will execute & leave with both World Titles. 7. Impact Knockout's Championship Match: Deonna Purrazzo d. Really enjoyed this show and thought the main event was fabulous.Adding Mauro was a nice touch.
After a month in the hospital it was nice just watching a wrestling show and it being fun.The pain meds may have helped my enjoyment.
