The story itself was a huge deal, but the Cody-Aldis finish from All In wasn’t spectacular.

Kerry Von Erich beating Ric Flair with a backslide to win the World Title. Sting beat Flair with a small package in their championship match. Think a couple Flair/Steamboat matches ended similarly. Also, Becky/Rhonda/Charlotte.

Shane Douglas beating Pitbull 2 with a belly to belly. After 45 minutes of hitting him with everything including the kitchen sink Shane Douglas was overpushed for a few reasons, but his really lackluster finisher didn't help matters one bit. Douglas could talk but his promos were meh. Like anybody and their mother can curse, where is your flair (ironically he always shitted on Ric Flair)

Especially when RVD was there and if you was worried about him jumping ship, you still had Taz as well

Samoa Joe's match with Misawa was ended with an elbow in the back of the head. To be fair, an elbow to the back of the head from Misawa could drop just about anyone, or anything.

It was absolutely brutal, but all the same, it was interesting how there had been a near fall from an Emerald Flowsion immediately before, but that was the finish.

The main culprit was Macho Man's scepter but that doesn't change the fact that Slaughter won the title from Warrior with a very weak elbow drop.

Remember when Cody pinned Shawn Spears with a Figure Four?

Actually similar to how Misawa won his first Triple Crown, the big move didn't quite put down Terry Gordy and Misawa had to do the running elbow (which became more and more his regular finish in his last years).

Joe had enough fighting spirit to kick out of the finisher, but the mind can only will the body so much.

Remember when Cody pinned Shawn Spears with a Figure Four? Flair used to do that a lot. I wonder if the reasoning is that the person in it knows they can't get out, but would prefer to be pinned rather than be made to tap out.

Any match that ended with The Overdrive.
Dustin's ended a few matches recently with a running Bulldog, I know that was his old school finisher but it's still jarring

I know that it was a different time, but it's still strange to me that Booker T used a missile dropkick as a finisher for a time and would bring it back out occasionally.

I think the idea is you're in so much pain with the legs and trying to hang on, you completely forget about keeping your shoulders up and don't notice the ref counting.

I’m not saying it didn’t make sense or anything, it was just the first match that sprung to mind.

Isn't that how he beat Dusty to get the title back in '86? Flair using the ropes for extra leverage and Dusty was in such agony he got pinned.

That doofus Petey Williams constantly ending matches with the most common mid-match transition move in wrestling, amirite?
