{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I'm kinda pissed at this episode simply because it kills my idea for a Connie-led all-girls team Mighty Duck spin-off movie. But that's what I get for making up fan-fiction in my head. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}There's still Tammy or Julie The Cat. {Spoiler}No, the idea only worked for Connie. Part of the plot involved her re-connecting with Guy, who she wouldn't have seen since they graduated Eden Hall.
Besides, who would want a Tammy movie? I don't even think Tammy would want a Tammy movie. Although it would be nice to see Danny Tamberelli again.

Loved it. Fulton Reed really came across as an actual human who had aged, Averman a little less so and everyone else not so much. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}They address the lack of Joshua Jackson, somewhat. Another breadcrumb I saw in this episode that’s maybe building for season 2...if one is coming. {Spoiler}I see him being a surprise end-of-season character like how John Kreese showed up at the end of Cobra Kai season 1. Maybe he shows up in the stands to congratulate the Don’t Bothers on winning the tournament or something.

I think Jackson said in an interview that he could not do it because COVID kept him in Canada.

Alright, so episode seven dropped today. {Spoiler}So here's my theory on how this episode was created. One of the writers, probably a newbie or a temp, wrote a really great story about the kids working through their problems and doing some hockey and Gordon helping them along the way. Then one of his bosses came along and said "what is this garbage? This isn't a show about kids playing hockey! This is a show about annoying middle-aged Mom's being annoying! FIX THIS RIGHT NOW!". So another writer took the script and crapped out some stupid sub-plot about the Mom thinking she's Mr. Miyagi and having the kids play blindfolded.
I am honestly really pissed about how much I genuinely really enjoyed the first half of this episode, and how much it all fell apart when midway through somebody decided it had to be about Alex. AGAIN.
Also, was that pond supposed to be the same pond from the first movie? Because it looked nothing like the pond from the first movie. Where was the liquor store in the background? Where did all those pine trees come from? This looked more like the pond from those old McDonalds commercials. I kept waiting for Ronald and the cartoon deer and rabbits to show up.

{Spoiler}Don’t Bothers are going to State’s. Mrs. Santa’s Sister seems to be fired And I’m still bothered by how no one on this show can skate. At all.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Now Alex is undergoing the win-at-all-costs change, and her only reason for doing so is to get back at her boss at work.
Speaking of her work, nice job on the reveal that she works for the Duckworth firm. Props on the call-back.

{Spoiler}I enjoyed this weeks episode. Most of the focus was on the kids, and Alex is more tolerable when she's supposed to be the bad guy.
Watched the preview for next week, looks very interesting with the upcoming love triangle.

You think this gets picked up for another season? I mean, they seem be laying the seeds, they have an hour to wrap everything up and the next episode appears to have little to nothing to do with hockey, just like the rest of the series, which gives them the final episode for the game to change.....I’m fine either way.

You think this gets picked up for another season? It could go either way. Despite my complaints it seems to be getting good reviews. Don't know what viewing figures are. It doesn't seem to have anywhere near as many people talking about it online as the Marvel and Star Wars stuff does.

It really isn’t anything more or less than what it is, if that makes any sense.

What about that John Stamos basketball show that's on right now at the same time as Mighty Ducks. The fact that we have a thread about the Ducks and not Stamos Basketball Show kinda shows that the Ducks do have some staying power among us.

The fact that we have a thread about the Ducks and not Stamos Basketball Show kinda shows that the Ducks do have some staying power among us. You know, when I started this thread I honestly didn't think it would get this much traffic. I figured it would just get some posts about its pilot before quietly disappearing. I'm glad that didn't happen though, it's given me a chance to vent about some of my frustrations with the show. But at the beginning I actually made a promise to myself that if nobody was interested to just let it die and not turn it into a situation where I'm just talking to myself. That said, remember this board has a large population of geeks who grew up in the 80's and 90's (myself included) who would have very strong nostalgic feelings for the Mighty Ducks franchise and would be much more interested in following and discussing its follow-up then they would some random John Stamos led original property. I don't think this board is a good judge of interest of either show by the average Disney+ watcher. Honestly, on the other message boards I check out (I apologize for my disloyalty) I'm not seeing much, if any, chatter on either show, especially when compared The Bad Batch or the upcoming Loki.

Is Dave Coulier the wacky assistant coach?

I tried to watch a few episodes and didn’t care.
I stand by my original opinion D2 is the only good live action mighty ducks property.

So episode nine was interesting - {Spoiler}{Spoiler}It was probably the first time I enjoyed Alex' storyline more then I enjoyed the kids'.
I'm kinda worried about next weeks finale. It just feels like there are way too many sub-plots and unanswered questions floating around to be satisfactorily resolved in one episode. WandaVision had a similar problem and they did not handle it well, and I really don't have much confidence that Game Changers can do any better.

They really only need to wrap up the hockey portion of the story. Everything else is kind of immaterial.

Her personal life is falling apart, and she's throwing everything into work, and she's jealous of Alex. Stephanie's got the money, but she doesn't have Alex's family life. They look to be setting her up as being behind the Don't Bothers, and wanting her kids to leave the Ducks.
On the flip side, I thought they were starting to add layers to Coach Cardboard Cutout, but nope, he still ratted out Gordon.
And yeah, I'm expecting Charlie to show up in the finale and giving a pep talk to Bombay and the Don't Bothers.

{Spoiler}And yeah, I'm expecting Charlie to show up in the finale and giving a pep talk to Bombay and the Don't Bothers. {Spoiler}I mean, I suppose that's possible, but it doesn't seem likely. They've done nothing to build up to a random Charlie appearance, and based on where they were at the end of episode nine, it doesn't seem like either Bombay or the team particularly need that kind of pep talk, especially from a person they've never met before.
Honestly I'd rather they do save a Charlie appearance for a hypothetical second season. Based on the dialogue from the Ducks reunion episode it seems that Bombay and Charlie had a genuine falling out, as opposed to them just losing touch like Bombay seemed to with the rest of the team. I would rather see that get some real time to be worked out then it suddenly being another ball thrown into the air with the dozen other things that need to be resolved for the finale.

Will it change the Don't Bothers' outlook? What happens with this incarnation of the Ducks being taken down a peg so tremendously?
