So this just premiered on Amazon Prime on Friday. Based on one of the best comics of the past 20 years by Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley and man, does the adaptation nail it. Both the writing and art style is straight from the books (Kirkman is heavily involved so that was likely a given). The humor, action, and pathos is all there.
And man, STACKED cast.
Loving it so far.

All three episodes were awesome.
There's some editing for brevity's sake that I probably wouldn't have done, but you probably have a limited number of episodes to work with.
Hopefully the show lasts through the end.

Best new show I've seen in awhile.
Feel like I keep pausing it to see who's voicing who. What a cast.
I like that they're taking their time with the Omni-Man reveal.
Monster Girl for President.

So half way through the second episode, having not read the comic I’m totally not familiar with the story and holy shit I didn’t not see that first episode ending coming

Maybe I'll keep going if everyone's saying it gets good, but I watched the first episode and all I got out of it was every tired superhero trope combined. Is that intentional to start with?

Looks interesting so far. Since it's on Amazon Prime, I expected a ridiculous level of gore. Still, I wasn't expecting that episode one ending. Also, it's great that the source material is actually completed. TV shows that overtake the source material usually end up terrible.
And part of me was expecting Omni-Man to tell his son to watch out for a certain web slinger.

I caught up last week on the first 4 episodes and just finished episode 5 now. I'm really enjoying the tv series. I have the Family Matters volume on my Kindle for free so I might finish it now.
My favorite bit is the high school he attends is Reginald VelJohnson High School and it's Principal Winslow is voiced by the actor.

I'm gonna get around to watching it, but I'm doing a big read/re-read of a lot of Image "Universe" superhero stuff and it's on my list. I've read the whole series as it came out but haven't done a binge re-read since they were on like issue 100. Gonna wait until after re-reading the whole series before jumping into the cartoon.

This has been a great show and I fully expect it to continue on past season 1. It's getting great reception and a lot of buzz online. Having never read the comics I'm so interested in how this show proceeds. Who lives, who dies, how long do they stretch out certain big story beats etc. And I just think the universe is cool. It's pretty much all comic tropes we've seen before, but they do enough to make Invincible it's own thing. To me, this show just feels special. Love it.

Loving the show. It's somehow combining comics optimism with dark gritty realism. I'm impressed.

I'm familiar with certain aspects of the comics and I wonder if they'll show one of the most controversial aspects of the storyline in the show. I think you can make really good arguments both for and against portraying it.

As someone who has read the full comic-book run (but didn't love them - it didn't help that I binge-read most of them, which only highlit Kirkman's occasional faults and crutches as a writer - mostly towards the back half of Invincible's run ; early issues are solid), i'm interested in the creative choices the show's writers are making in adapting the material.
They cut a LOT of soap/relationship material, and they switched the timing of a bunch of early events, but overall, they're pretty faithful to Kirkman's books, in tone and in spirit. But some later touchy aspects might need to be either cut or substantially changed to make it on screen...
(also, Walter Goggins just doesn't really work as Cecil for me, but YMMV)

Content warning (and also actually a major spoiler): {Spoiler}A female Viltrumite forces Mark to have sex with her. It uses a lot of similar tropes often used for these sorts of stories, but usually reserved for male rapists of women. The trauma of what happened affects Mark for the rest of the comic's run, between his own self-worth and his relationships with Eve and the son born from the assault. Using violent sexual assault as a storytelling device is understandably controversial and something that's often gauche, especially with how to seems to rob women characters of their agency far too often. However, I think using it for a man might help bring awareness to the idea that men can be victims of sexual assault, too; even by women. They didn't secretly enjoy it or were 'asking for it.' A male victim feels just as powerless and traumatized as a female victim.

Today's episode 7 is the penultimate episode for next week's finale. Another pretty good one, especially what I think was the last 20-25 minutes. Really intense. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I think the Mauler Twins are my favorite villains right now. Really fun to watch. If not for the super-villainy, they'd be easier to root for. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I hope they can bring back Immortal again. Then maybe kill him.

This show is so damn good. Great story, great pacing, and great characters. I've become a huge fan of Atom Eve in particular.
