... of losing a match and then for no apparent reason immediately turning around into a title shot?
It's been a bizarrely consistent trend in recent years.
26 - Beth Phoenix 27 - Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson 29 - Ryback 30 - Kane 32 - AJ Styles 33 - Jinder Mahal (as runner-up in the Andre) 35 - Rey Mysterio 36 - Seth Rollins

Shouldn't 31 have Seth Rollins kind or sort of listed there? Because he did lose an undercard match and end up headlining the next PPV, just as the champion thanks to Money in the Bank.

Sasha Banks? Asuka? Since they always lose at Mania lol.
Other than those two...Maybe Apollo Crews?

Fiend will beat Orton and Orton will get a title shot right after backlash.

Eh, I don't see any of the world title feuds concluding at mania.

For those keeping track this year's winner thus far is Drew McIntyre and also arguably Kushida.

Are we counting people winning titles the night after Mania, like Miz beating Ryder, Barrett beating Miz or Paige beating AJ?

Are we counting people winning titles the night after Mania, like Miz beating Ryder, Barrett beating Miz or Paige beating AJ? I was just going off PPVs since it's easier to keep track of, but Miz is a good answer. Barrett I don't think'd really count because rematch clause, I was ignoring that.

Feel like Riott Squad wins the tag titles next, if that counts.

I wouldn't really count Drew... since Backlash is almost always the night of Mania rematches regardless. Drew counts in the fact that he’s an early card Mania loser who gets a title shot at the next PPV. It’s just that it’s almost unprecedented that the WWE title would be that low on the card, even though that decision makes sense in context.

Feel like Riott Squad wins the tag titles next, if that counts. I think they're going to put them on Dana and Mandy, even though they don't deserve a shot after running away from the match on Monday.

Loses at Wrestlemania 6 and is the first televised challenger to Warrior's WWF Championship.
