It'd be cool, though I don't know how good a look it'd be to have the dude win it who so recently challenged for it and lost. If it wasn't so recent, it'd be one thing, but it gives me pause.

I just spent a nice while getting caught up on NJPW shows, finally caught up, and walk right in to current events all I might be wrong, but it does feel like of all the large to "mid-major" size wrestling companies on the global stage right now New Japan might have the greatest percentage of its roster traveling overseas for shows on any kind of a regular basis. That combined with Japan's horrible handling of COVID in recent months is creating utter chaos, it seems, but it's definitely on the higher ups in the company to pick a set of guidelines they're going to follow and stick to them, can't have the guys who have to get on planes regularly always being worried about having to shack up in a hotel or the dojo for two weeks before they can go anywhere or do anything, tell them they don't have to, change course at the last minute, etc. It's an unfair, unprecedented situation, to be sure, but just as Gedo and company have every right to be frustrated with how the pandemic is wrecking booking plans left and right, the wrestlers from Finlay to KENTA to Juice to Ospreay to anyone else who's trying to cross the Pacific or head back to Europe at any point have every right to be frustrated as hell right now, and the company has to address that. In the meantime, I hope the circumstances allow for more surprise first time World Title winners.

If you like violence in your wrestling, check out the Rosser and Hikuleo match. Rosser is my vote for most improved.
Then, when you’ve finished that, check out the most recent NOAH show for the match between Kaito Kiyomiya and NOSAWA Rongai.
Kaito basically Eddie Guerrero’s himself after a chair shot.

I think you’re going to see a lot more New Japan talent demand to work more on STRONG, in AEW, in Impact, and maybe even ROH.

Has there ever been an underwhelming return from excursion such as Wato Okada was still very green coming off that bad TNA run and a shit match at WK with YOSHI-HASHI. Nobody liked the title change but luckily that man is such a generational talent as Gedo expected and by the summer everyone knew he was forreal Wato has not been able to show any flashes of brilliance

Has there ever been an underwhelming return from excursion such as Wato Okada was still very green coming off that bad TNA run and a shit match at WK with YOSHI-HASHI. Nobody liked the title change but luckily that man is such a generational talent as Gedo expected and by the summer everyone knew he was forreal Wato has not been able to show any flashes of brilliance I distinctly remember back when people used to shit on the Rainmaker and call it a crappy finisher, saying that his tombstone piledriver should be his finisher instead, along with people feeling like he had no business as world champion. Obviously, he rose to the occasion and Gedo's faith was validated, and Jay White would mirror this to an extent later on, but yeah, it was initially rough going. I feel like Wato is more easily overlooked and forgotten, but more viciously mocked when people deign to remember him. Pairing him with Tenzan was weird given how little the two have in common from either ring or character perspectives, and calling a newbie "Master" is just asking to be scoffed at. It's wild that a dude where blue is such an important color to his presentation wasn't paired with Yuji Nagata, given that seems like a more natural fit, but if I was Nagata, I'd favor Narita, too.
