Not sure what Kevin Dunn’s alleged deal is about the women’s accents. Even coming from the old school mindset that seems to permeate at the top of WWE, that the women are mainly there for their looks (they’re not)—personally, I generally think an accent from an attractive woman is incredibly hot. Didn't he also apparently have issues with Sheamus's accent too?

Last time it seemed karma came home to roost, they: - told us we were the authority - blamed low ratings on Baron Corbin - brought up EC3, Ricochet/Black to mixed results - went back to status quo by their next episode And what's funny was that was enough for a significant number of fans. Enough to where they're able to do the same things week in, week out that made them panic in the first place, with zero ramifications. Why? Because they can. We all know what they do when the ratings get low: Vince appears on Raw, throws shit at the wall, and things continue as they are. They don't learn lessons because why should they? They're making record profit. Despite the ratings their shows are often first or second in the ratings. You have to hit them where it hurts... the wallet. Stop supporting WWE. Don't watch the product and don't buy their crap. Support indy or one of the other major promotions. What you do individually now may make a minor impact, but over time if enough people do it they will have to reverse course. I'll say this again, 20 years ago 10 million watched, 10 years ago 4 million watched, today 1.5 million watch. They don't give a monkeys red ass about fans. They lost roughly 85% of their viewership, did nothing to fix it and actually made more money. They feel that rubes and kids will keep watching and they'll keep their sweetheart deals with sponsors etc.

Went through the thread and sorry if I missed it, but was there any sign of any additional cuts today?

At the time Cryme Tyme broke up Vince and other WWE officials apparently saw a lot of singles potential in Shad Gaspard. I'm not sure why. I hate to speak ill of the dead, but Shad was obviously not ready for such a push at the time. From what I remember reported at the time Shad was pushing for the split up himself thinking the tag team was holding him back. But He was really only really good as the hot tag half of a tag team... learning to get the babyface fire spots down that way is great but it's not really something that's going to translate to singles success right away. I think even the WWE realized there was slightly more upside to JTG as he was the one that won the break up feud... Yeah I think a lot of it was just false speculation where people thought Shad was the chosen one of the two simply because he was bigger and Vince liking big guys. Not that they were super high on JTG or anything either but in about the last year or so of their run you could tell they liked him a little more then Shad. I think the fact that they gave him Rumble spots in 2009 and 2010 while they left Shad out both years made it clear. JTG also seemed to get a lot more single matches and even went over Jericho in the buildup to their Summerslam match with Jerishow. It seemed like they didn't trust Shad if he wasn't in a tag match where he could just be the hot tag guy. I remember there was also rumors of Shad having heat backstage as well towards the end of their run. I remember JTG confirming it when he was on Jericho's podcast and basically made Shad out to be a guy who could get in his own way a lot and make a lot of dumb mistakes backstage that would result in him getting heat. Since they were a team JTG would often be guilty by association and get punished as well, and eventually grew tired of it which played a part in the two wanting to split from each other.

I don't look at the likes of Peter Avalon, Ryan Nemeth, Zicky Dice, Leva Bates, or Johnny Swinger in other companies and think to myself "Man, a shame they have a ceiling and will never be world champion, I guess they need to be fired". They're GOOD in their roles! Who cares if they have a ceiling when that ceiling is being good, and helping get other talents over? While ALSO being entertaining themselves and not being total jobbers??. Swinger is actually a really great example because this is a dude who was barely a player in ECW and original run TNA, even less of a player in WWE, he comes back to Impact and reinvents himself completely as a throwback and even made a great match from a dude who was a WCW Saturday Night staple and hadn’t shown up in 20 or so years. It’s not the biggest shift and he damn sure isn’t going to get a world title run from it but who would need that if you’re making money regardless? Swinger is legit my favourite wrestler in TNA and if you told me in 2018 that would end up being the case, I'd have you committed.

Samoa Joe is the only surprising one. I wonder how serious his injuries are. I did like him as an announcer. Heavy Machinery and Ilconics should still be tag teams, but I'm really only going to miss Peyton out of her, Billie, and Tucker.
Kalisto was pretty popular for a time, but they seemed to forget about him once Rey rejoined rather than use it as an advantage. I would have had them team together and then feud. I think that was the plan at one point in time.

I think that was the plan at one point in time. For years, WWE was trying to find the next Rey Mysterio. They just decided it was easier to just rehire Rey Mysterio. It makes me worry about Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik. How long do they have before they also get the ax?

Went through the thread and sorry if I missed it, but was there any sign of any additional cuts today? none officially announced, no. NXT ones are being talked about but who exactly isn't announced until the person released talks about it usually.

He got two within a two or three week period, one wrestling on Raw and another taking a table spot in a commercial they filmed. WWE hasn't cleared him to return to the ring.

Putting the Iconics back together and have them show up on NXT to confront The Way could have been all kinds of fun.

It could've been terrible, but I didn't think Carmella as a face would work out when they paired her with R-Truth and yet it did for a while.

Then again, you bump into Finlay in a hall way, you would probably push him too.

I think they would get over easy as faces because of their personalities. In ring I think would be problem though especially with Billie. Peyton as a face I don't think would be much of an issue as she's athletic enough and has explosive enough offense (Deja Vu, widow's peak, fisherman's suplex, some assortment of kicks) that she she could work in the role but I just have a tough time seeing Billie being able to adjust due to her lack of athleticism and how soft her offense is. Only way I think it could work is if Billie would basically become female Santino in that she's the goofball (or bigger goofball anyways) who is in way over her head and doesn't know it and gets in trouble and plays the face in peril with Peyton then being the hot tag girl since she has the more varied offense of the two.
