Some Like it Hot OAD 3-14-84
Russian Yakov Korolenko makes his 1st appearance on the show as he is charged with selling stolen property, would rather burn down the courtroom and everyone in it than go to jail. We see Lana for the last time in this episode but while she would be missed, whoever takes her place permanently starting in the next season would be a important piece of the puzzle 8 out of 10
Harry and The Rock Star OAD 3-21-84 Fans and reporters disrupt court proceedings when Harry dates a rock star (Kristine DeBell), and tries to cope with a new court clerk. (Who isn't seen again after this episode) Okay episode 6 out of 10
Bull's Baby OAD 3-28-84 The courtroom crew try to help Bull when a neighbor leaves her baby with him. Another decent episode 5 out of 10
Hi Honey, I'm Home OAD 5-31-84 Harry has to settle the legal status of a woman (Marcia Rodd) who remarried after her first husband was mistakenly declared dead, and who wants her back. We say goodbye to Liz Williams as this is her final episode. She'd be sorely missed but another crucial piece of the puzzle would show up only once in season 2 but would be permanently in place by season 3 6 out of 10
And Now ONWARD TO THE 2nd SEASON

I say Bull's Baby is the episode that helps define Bull Shannon's traits as being caring and selfless, even if he lacks common sense, which carries on for the rest of the series.
Not to mention Dan losing to the dead guy.

The Nun OAD 9-27-84 That court clerk piece of the puzzle is in place with the addition of Mac Robinson to the show, Meanwhile, an impressionable young nun (Dinah Manoff) decides to leave her order after meeting Harry; Dan tries to hit on a temporary public defender. that public defender will never be seen again. Great way to kick off season 2 7 out of 10
Daddy for the Defense aka Christine and Mac OAD 10-4-84 Christine Sullivan has a rough and brutal first day in court thanks to Harry and her over-protective father (Eugene Roche); in the B-story, Selma returns to work delirious after surgery. Due to Markie Post's Fall Guy obligations (Fall Guy would be axed by the end of the 1984-5 season) this is the only time this season we'll see Christine as she will return for good the next season but a fine episode to debut her on 8 out of 10
Billie and The Cat OAD 10-18-84 3 episodes, 3 different public defenders as Billie Young takes over however she is sent to jail for refusing to reveal the whereabouts of a cat her client is accused of kidnapping. Well, ain't no doubt about it, we're going to have to put up with Billie for most of the rest of the season but a fine episode nonetheless 6 out of 10

Markie Post wasn't the first Christine. Shelley Hack of Charlie's Angels was originally cast and did rehearsals for Daddy for the Defense. Richard Moll mentions her in the E! True Hollywood Story Night Court episode that she didn't last too long. Its interesting show creator Reinhold Weege did not just recast Christine again. Maybe because they aired her episode, but I think they liked Post and wanted to keep that option open. So they created Billie who didn't fit with the show, she was too rough and not really comedic. The season 2 premiere, The Nun, was second shot obviously since it doesn't have the permanent public defender yet.

Pick a Number OAD 10-25-84 The courtroom transforms into a circus when a meek little fellow chooses Harry to decide what worthy person will receive the money from his winning lottery ticket. Decent show 5 out of 10

I remember visiting my aunt in New York when I was 11 and I wanted her to take me to see night court. And....I was very disappointed by the lack of a magician judge and a wise cracking lawyer and the cases were so dull. There was a bald headed guy and so I pretended that he was Bull.

Blizzard OAD 12-6-84 A blizzard traps everyone in the courthouse and Dan in an elevator with a gay man. 7 out of 10

Changing the rating system from # out of 10 to a * to ***** system
Hello, Goodbye OAD 9/26/85 Everyone tries to adjust to Selma's death as Harry interviews possible replacements, but Bull, devastated by Selma's passing goes on a drinking binge instead; public defender Christine Sullivan is permanently assigned to the court, to the delight of both Harry and Dan. A fine season opener that brought back what would prove to be a crucial piece of the Night Court Puzzle in Christine Sullivan this time for good. ***1/2

An great but not spectacular episode, ***3/4 Dad's First Date OAD 10-17-85 Christine's dad goes on his first date in eight years and ends up in court, charged with soliciting a prostitute (Estelle Harris); Meanwhile in a subplot, Harry also must deal with the tenants of a clothing-optional building. this was a fine episode to watch, ***3/4

Not watching it on Vudo Halloween, Too OAD 10-31-85 Harry falls hook, line and sinker for a beautiful woman, (Mary Margaret Humes) who turns out to be a real witch. A fine but not great episode **3/4 stars Dan's Boss OAD 11-14-85 Dan's life becomes a living nightmare as he tries to butter up his new boss: a little person, Vincent Daniels (In his first appearance), whose permanent enmity Dan has earned by making fun of him when Daniels asked for directions, not knowing who he really was. An Good episode ***1/4 Up On The Roof OAD 11-28-85 Harry tries to free a rock star from not only an overly solicitous entourage, but his shrink more interested in the rock star's bank account then his mental well-being, an fine episode, *** Wheels of Justice OAD 12-5-85 (Part 1) 12-12-85 (Part 2) Everyone is in a financial crisis when the city can't pay its employees, Harry has to evict a woman and son from a sleazy hotel, and a homeless couple from West Virginia (the picaresque Wheelers, played by Brent "Data" Spiner and Annie O'Donnell) tells their tale of woe. The Wheelers appear in several future episodes and Things go from bad to worse, when Harry learns that the son from the previous case was shot in a robbery, and he resigns as judge. An great two-parter, ***1/2

Dan's Escort OAD 1-9-86 Dan takes a job as a paid escort for a wealthy, lonely woman (Barbara Cason) who demands a lot for her money, and in the B-story, Yakov appeals to Harry for help when his wife is arrested on a visit to the U.S. Another decent episode, **3/4
The Night Off OAD 1-16-86 A burned-out older judge (Jeff Corey) brought in to substitute for Harry exhibits bizarre behavior: he issues a bench arrest for the Rockettes, imprisons Dan and Mac for contempt, and appoints Florence and Phil (Will Utay) as the defending and prosecuting attorneys. Another not bad but not great episode, **1/2
Harry and Leon OAD 1-23-86 The Leon trilogy of episodes begins as Harry takes pity on the building shoeshine boy, who seeks refuge from a social worker trying to place him in another foster home. I'm not gonna lie, I don't completely hate this idea. I do like Melissa Rauch. Richard Moll needs to be in this too though. Most of the articles I’ve read refer to “Former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding”, so one wonders if he’s playing a different part in the proceedings, maybe he’s become the public defender?
