I'm hoping {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}that a third movie doesn't become too much engrossed in the MCU and just let it do its own thing. Sure, have Brock meet up with Spider-Man, but let's not make it into a world-ending scenario. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Absolutely. We finally have a great opportunity to capitalize/enjoy the Spidey/Venom dynamic on screen handled “right”. Surely there’ll be a “true” villain or whatever but this could be a good case of keeping the story personal and somewhat low to the ground.

I just hope in the inevitable third it isn't Venom vs yet another symbiote. Thing is, what villains does Venom actually have that aren't? Even Knull is symbiote related.

Could be like an anti-Symbiote organization or something. {Spoiler}Or they just have Venom fight Spider-Man until he realizes that Spidey is a good guy so they fight a greater threat, who hopefully isn't another Symbiote.

{Spoiler}I hope they get D’Onofrio back as Kingpin. Smythe, spider-slayers, Jonah, Eddie, Peter, the concept of “good guys, bad guys”. And the rogue list is vast, so, could always put about anybody in there as “villains”.

It's no more comedic then anything like the Guardians of the Galaxy or Ant-Man movies. It's more light-hearted then you'd probably expect considering the source material but it's not doing anything you haven't seen before. I'm not so much curious as to whether I've seen it before so much as I'm curious as to whether its good or not.

I was bored throughout most of it, just like the first one.

With Detective Mulligan being revived by a piece of symbiote and his eyes glowing blue.

I felt like the movie could've benefitted from an R Rating but man did that movie felt scattered brain at what it wanted to do. It was a mess of a movie and not in a fun "The Room" way, it was just plain bad.

Just got back from watching this. It was a fun film. It felt short for some reason. I'm guessing it may have to do with Venom and Carnage not really fighting each other until the very last act. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I gotta say, the multiverse is really working in this film's favor. It would have made very little sense for Venom and Spidey to just suddenly have always existed in the same universe.

I thought it was funny and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to go to the movies and genuinely turn off my brain. I love the MCU films but this embraced the camp and dialed up the humor. I couldn't help but like it.

Saw it last night. Nothing really deep or groundbreaking, but a good time to spend 90 minutes or so. There were lulls in the middle here and there, however. {Spoiler}And indeed we are getting Spidey vs. Venom somehow! Wonder if the symbiote was implying that he knew of the multiverse, which is how he knew Peter? Or he knew a different Peter of course? Maybe, there could be a movie where Venom evnetually does join with Spider-Man as we are familiar with, then the story plays out more or less as we know it? P.S. WTH is this "Lamb" movie?

Don't worry, I'm sure Andy Serkis has a four-hour Snyder Cut copy sitting in a film case somewhere in his basement. "See, I always meant to have Carrion in V:LTBC..."

WTH is this "Lamb" movie? {Spoiler}At one point I had a theory that the Venom symbiote is the same one from Spider-Man 3 who somehow managed to escape by fleeing to another universe. Honestly though to make it work would require so much more hoop jumping then is worth it and I'm not really in favor of it anymore.
And having a story where the Spider-Man/Venom feud plays out as we are familiar with (which I assume you mean similar to their comic book conflicts) feels like it would be a major step backwards for both Eddie and the symbiote in terms of character development.
Personally I think the symbiote, who as we've seen can be pretty naive at times, is just taking too much of JJJ's word for it that Peter's a bad guy and really wants to eat him because of that.

You know what could have been great? {Spoiler}Maybe not killing off the villains and letting this whole multiverse shift eventually lead into a Maximum Carnage film.

I felt like the movie could've benefitted from an R Rating but man did that movie felt scattered brain at what it wanted to do. It was a mess of a movie and not in a fun "The Room" way, it was just plain bad. Yeah, I'm not a stickler for gritty R-rated comic book movies, but if you're going to make a movie about Carnage and call it "Let There Be Carnage", there needs to be a little more small c carnage. I don't think I would have even started production on a Carnage film until I secured an R-rating. The whole movie is a mess. The pacing is a nightmare, despite being only 90 minutes, it feels like they're just spinning their wheels an extraordinary amount of the time. Shriek feels like she's only in the movie to let the audience know that the filmmakers, too, are familiar with Maximum Carnage. There's another character, whose name I will withhold, who so clearly exists solely to set up the next sequel that I physically facepalmed when I Googled them. The best overall compliment I can give this movie is it's very short for a modern movie, and it's stupid and it knows it's stupid. There's a jarring self awareness AND lack thereof happening simultaneously that I can only compare to the second half of All Star Batman and Robin, when Frank Miller realized how his book was being received and decided to just play into it. It's like they realized they were the "turd in the wind" movie, and tried to convince us all that they did that on purpose, leading to a movie that really plays like a straight-up comedy, except when Carnage is on-screen and it's appropriately horror (if rather bloodless horror).
