oh wow... that is... huh
why -- that's pointless and change for the sake of change without rhyme or reason

Did the league ever say how they determined who would play who in the added game this season once it went to a 17 game schedule? Because since the 2002 division realignment, the teams you played was determined in a specific pattern (6 games vs division, 4 games vs another division within your conference, 2 other games within your conference, 4 games vs a division in the other conference.) Was there a 'method' to determining everyone's 17th opponent or what?

I kinda wish the NFL had a rule for the jersey numbers like "you can only do it if you make the probowl the previous year".
So basically only currently good dudes could do it. It would be a little bonus for the elite. And it would keep the entire Wide Receiving Core of the team from fighting over being #1

Was there a 'method' to determining everyone's 17th opponent or what? It's basically 1 game out of conference where you play th team they finished the same as you. For example the AFC west has the NFC east as it's normal out of conference group, the North though is where the extra game comes from. So you'll get Chiefs vs Packers, Raiders vs Bears etc as the extra game.

The Patriots have resigned QB Bryan Hoyer.
It does make sense. Probably being brought in to help mentor Mac Jones as Hoyer's style is a lot closer to Jones than Cam's.
If Mac can beat out Cam then I could see Cam being cut and the Pats going with Mac, Hoyer and Stidham. If Cam wins out it's possible Stidham gets traded or cut.

Seems the Falcons want to trade Julio Jones. You know what to do, John Lynch.
ALL THE WEAPONS FOR TREY LANCE!
(This plan involves firing JimmyG into the sun to absorb Jones’ contract)

(This plan involves firing JimmyG into the sun to absorb Jones’ contract) playing around here as this won't happen, but Jones AND Ryan for Jimmy G, 2021 1st, a decent player, 2022 1st rd and 2022 5th rd. I have know idea if the math or anything makes sense, maybe change or add/lose different round picks, but it just popped into my head. Shanahan gets to reunite with Ryan to bridge to Lance. Jones is Jones 49ers get All Pros to maybe try and win a super bowl for the next couple years before switching to Lance Falcons get rid almost all the stink of Super Bowl 51 off of them, a younger QB and possible draft picks to draft a hign level QB in 2022.

^^It would have to be a combination of 2nds + more as the Niners don’t have firsts anymore. But apparently The Athletic thinks he won’t cost as much as you would think (I don’t have a subscription, just going by what I saw others say)

I tossed Ryan in the trade cause he makes more sense as the bridge guy for Lance than Jimmy imo, but Arthur Blank is going to make sure he's Falcon for life (most likely).
