Also, Was this show a bigger deal in Canada? I stumbled across this reunion interview on entertainment tonight in Canada. youtu.be/KUmIK_LqvGEThey’ve all seemed to age really well. Only guy doesn’t look pretty much the same as he did 20 years ago Apparently so, if Wikipedia is to be believed. Was Engel involved in this show? I kind of took it for granted that it was one of his many similarly-themed projects from that era, but I’m not finding anything crediting him on it.

Only guy doesn’t look pretty much the same as he did 20 years ago Thanks to the thread, I was also on a Student Bodies trip. Here's the entire reunion interview they did at Entertainment Tonight Canada in 2017 - www.facebook.com/ETCanada/videos/vl.287512361621272/1542168099163505/?type=1The actors have done other interviews since then on youtube channels like You Me and YTV. From what they've said, Student Bodies is actually an American produced show, FOX was the production company, that was shot in Montreal to use their tax credits. It was made for US syndication when first-run syndicated shows were still popular in America, but found more popularity in Canada since it aired on their YTV channel. To respond to your other post, the actors Cody, Emily, Mags, Chris, Victor and Flash were cast first and maybe Morgan, and according to them, the producers wanted these actors, but weren't sure which character they should play. They shot a pilot that was pretty poor and then took a break before coming back. During that time, they casted actors to play new characters Romeo and Grace.

Just finished season 1 of student bodies and have some thoughts
Really like this show.
Got that Nickelodeon cheap cable/90s Canadian quality to it.
Anyways, just watched episode 1 of season 2 and what the heck?, they changed the theme song? Felt like some friends knockoff.
Is Flash supposed to be an ally or enemy? She seemed like she enjoyed messing with Victoria despite working for him, she messed with their dating article. She had a thing with Chris in an early episode that looked like it was dropped but then it turns out they were together the whole time while he was lusting after Morgan.
Morgan, what a waste of a credited cast member. She was almost never used and just showed up for a quick joke and left.

I like that they reused parts of the pilot for a different episode, so it looked like a flashback/prequel episode so it wasn’t quite as jarring as watching an actual pilot or episode where the actors tried to play younger versions of themselves. Also, made more sense than saved by the bell randomly playing the pilot in the middle of the year.

With streaming services like Peacock around, I'm surprised most of these shows are unavailable to stream in good quality. It's impossible to find all of the episodes of City Guys or Hang Time on YouTube or anywhere else (though most of them are on there). I remember for a long time Cartoon Network showed reruns of KidsWB shows, ABC Family/Toon Disney showcased a good chunk of the Fox Kids library, coupled in with reruns of the TGIF lineup. But for whatever reason no other network stations were carrying the TNBC shows besides Saved by the Bell. Maybe they didn't have that long lasting impression that other programming blocks from that era had?

I could tell that some of the episodes on YouTube were ripped from VHS.

I had no idea CG was on BET until someone uploaded the show's intro theme on YouTube. Can't believe it's been this long.

Yes, only 1990s children will likely check them out, but I guess the other ones didn't have the cultural impact that Saved By The Bell had left considering how it had been rebooted and is still talked about to this day. I could imagine if they brought in the final Peter Engel-produced show for TNBC, which was All About Us. Yes, that's going into obscure territory, but I enjoyed that show despite it being different with its all-female cast and that it had no laugh track at all. Hell, I mainly watched that show when TNBC reran its block throughout 2002 until NBC started their Discovery Kids block.

Okay so I’m watching Hang time and they’re in California. I have no memory of these episodes.
Dustin diamond shows up but it’s not clear if he’s screech or Dustin diamond. Which is weird because there was a saved by the bell crossover the previous season that they reference a couple episodes ago.
Even weirder is, I clearly remember later is that one of them is sick at home he comfort himself by watching saved by the bell
Update: damn Kobe Bryant? This show didn’t skimp on the guest stars

I’m on season 3 of student bodies and season 4 of hang time.
You know, I knew that coach fuller left and they replaced him with Dick Butkiss, but I thought it went down differently. Especially the way season 3 ended. The coach was like “I’m thinking having leaving” but at the episode goes “ahh guys I can’t leave. Let’s do it again next year”. But the next season, he was already gone. I thought there was an episode where he clearly announced leaving and made the switch,
Student bodies is interesting. I didn’t expect Grace to leave abruptly during the season, yet they kept her on the intro the whole season. And apparently they added a new girl this season.
The ways they talked in that reunion special, I thought it was the whole cast the whole time since they never mentioned this new girl and they brought up Erin simms. And the girl who played Grace was in that interview

Student Bodies? Sweet Jesus I loved that show, haven’t seen it since about 1999 I genuinely wasn't aware that it aired outside of Canada. Here, Student Bodies and Breaker High were late night shows on YTV

So I finished Student bodies and nearing the end of hang time and city guys.
I like how City guys never messed with their cast.
Enjoy watching the surprisingly fair amount of student body reunion interviews. Weird how Grace left the show halfway through season 2. Yet she’s always in the reunions but the one who replaced her isn’t.
Kind of jarring seeing the switch from coach miller to Katowinski. I remember watching but I was still confused where one season ends where he’s thinking about leaving and it ends with “no, I’m staying” and the next season starts with “he left”.
Tried watching USA High and Malibu Ca again.
Even as a kid, there was something weird about these non TNbc Peter Engel shows.
The actors are better looking but all noticeably older, and somehow worse actors. That and writing is cheesier and the sets are cheaper.
I gotta say, between all these shows, animaniacs, and I started watching that show Saturday Morning All Star Hits, it’s actually way to spend a weekend morning in bed.
Oddly enough, saved by the bell (Peacock) feels more appropriate to watch at night.
All of these shows are still missing some episodes, except for student bodies and California dreams, so I hope they end up on peacock on day so I can watch the missing episodes.

I have no idea how I missed all this and Student Bodies being on YouTube.
The theme has lived rent free in my head for decades.

I don't know if I love or hate the fact that I can still remember the California Dreams theme song word for word.
