Sad news from Don West - can find the post here: www.kpq.com/an-update-from-don-west/"Hello everybody, Don West here to tell you about how disappointed I am not to be talking about the Seattle Seahawks, the Mariners, the Wenatchee Wild and everything else that we love to talk about every day on the Don West Show. Many of you have wondered where I have been and why the show is on hiatus. So I want to share this news directly with you. I have been diagnosed with a brain lymphoma and will begin immediate treatment. I want to thank my wife Terri for her love and support, my family and everyone that works at Cherry Creek Media and KPQ. I also want to thank the Don West Show’s incredible sponsors and my friends for all the prayers that are coming my way. I am praying the chemotherapy will help me heal faster and hopefully I’ll be back on the radio soon. I can’t wait until this is all over and I can be back with you all again, I love you all! Don West"

Gotta admit I always admired his enthusiasm even during TNAs worst years and his heel turn was funny. Hope he recovers.

I also hope they found it early and are able to do something about it quickly.
Don's enthusiasm was one of the things that made the early days of TNA stand out along with the talent of the X-Division and such just because he got invested in everything and even if it wasn't a big deal, it still somehow felt like you should care about it.
Hope for the best, dude.

Don West, like Jerry Lawler, had an all too elusive ability to get over the product he was calling. One of the true great announcers. Hope for a speedy recovery.

I will say without a trace of irony that he is one of my favorite commentators of all time. A large portion of that has to do with the fact that 2009 TNA was the first wrestling I ever got into so his voice for me was what I largely associated with the game.
Godspeed, DW. I know you'll beat this!

I wish i could find this, but they had some sports person, or some kinda d list celebrity on the show at one point and Don West says, “He/She’s such a TNA fan.”
I wish i could find it

Best wishes Don/ I hope he beats this and makes a full recovery. For a guy who had next to none experience in wrestling, he really got good at his job. He had such energy for it. When I went to a fan fest for TNA. I never seen a guy work so hard selling merchandise and helping fans than he did. If you where waiting in line but needed anything from the Merchandise table. He would go get it. It was impressive and super nice. He was surprised when people would ask for autographs. He was legit like I didn't think anybody would want it.

I went to a TNA Live event in 2010 and he was one of the nicest dudes there. Took time out to talk to literally everyone.
Godspeed man, kick this things ass!

First exposure to him was his late night/early morning enthusiasm selling sports cards and beanie babies in the late 90's.
How he went from one of the worst things in TNA to one of the best, still baffles me to this day. But I'll be damned. The man did it.
Hopefully the treatment goes well and he'll be back to 100%, wearing loud shirts and colorful ties.
