The ECW fans didn't boo Dusty Rhodes out of the building either, did they?
They marked out for Sid, didn't boo Dusty...I'm now at the point where I think Hogan could have come out waving the American flag and done his 1989 routine and all the ECW fans that claimed to hate him online would have started crying and cheering their hearts out for the Hulkster in person in the ECW Arena. ESPECIALLY if Hogan joined ECW post-Russo WCW when Russo effectively ruined the boom period with his shitty 4th wall breaking booking. Hogan would have had some sympathy from the smarks and would have had infinitely more presence than Corino and whoever else was left in ECW at that point.

I would've kindly paid to see RVD kick a chair into his face, or Sandman caning him in the head. F.U.H.H.

A podcaster once pointed out that ECW fans were pretty much disenfranchised 80's WWF fans, and that they would have popped hard for Hogan. I totally agree, especially since we didn't know he was a racist piece of shit yet.

but then he goes to Japan and does the exact opposite. His first Japan run happened while he was a rising star with something to prove, his second happened when his rep was shot in the west and he needed a big payday. Whenever Hulk has leverage, you get Hulk by the numbers, the same Hulk we saw in the WWF in 1993, the same we saw in WCW in 1995 and onward, the same we saw after his wcw contract renewal in 1998, the same one we saw after his third run in the WWE post Mr. America, the same one from the Hulkamania tour, the same one that surfaced in Impact... He wouldn't give ECW fans something new, not unless they were the only place that would have him. yeah caus we all remember WWF in 93 Hogan busting out the Enziguri every week.... honestly, if Hogan shows up in ECW that would mean that ECW was legit the only place that would have him caus you know damn well the second Hulk is done with WCW, Vince is on the line awaiting instructions where to deliver the dump truck of cash....if Hogan has to show up in ECW it means he is screwed thus....he puts in effort and he plays the ECW fans like a fiddle.

I would bring him in and have him play his full-on 80s Hulkamania persona and be completely oblivious to the crowds practically wanting to kill him.

Didn't the ECW fans basically mark out for Sid, who didn't adapt or change anything when he was in ECW? I figure if they'd cheer for Sid, they'd cheer for Hogan in person then go home and be snarky on the internet afterward. Even if they did boo Hogan, I think one hardcore match(say against Dreamer) where Hogan did a huge bladejob would win over the ECW faithful. Sid had a dangerous edge that Hogan never had. He was a genuine loose cannon and one of wrestlings last real outlaws. That made him a natural fit in ECW even if his resume didn't necessarily suggest that. Hogan was never anything like that, he was a Sports Entertainer before the term Sports Entertainment was even coined, which made him everything ECW rallied against.

How would the ECW crowd react if it was Randy Hogan that comes on board?
