Tony DeAngelo is now with the Hurricanes.
... why must life do this to me? Dougie finally leaves, and the team immediately signs the racist POS.

Dolan is gonna run this team into the ground like he did the Knicks. -___-

Kakko looked better at the end of the year, but they would seem a lot better with Buch and no Goodrow.

Evander Kane has been accused of gambling and throwing games. ... hoo, boy. As a Sharks fan, I am not pleased. Erik Karlsson may need to accept he is in a rebuild.

This Buffalo Sabres situation is so depressing to watch from so many proportions. They’ve qualified for the Finals twice in their entire existence and it seems to be a lock they will break the record of consecutive seasons of missing the postseason and likely to extend it for many more years. The handling of Jack Eichel’s surgery has been mismanaged and other top stars have departed. It’s pretty much back to 2015 all over again but without the guy they selected to turn the franchise around; I can’t imagine Eichel wanting to return or being the same player he used to be.
I bought an Oilers season ticket this year since it works out perfect for me. I live downtown and I have my apartment suite paid off and I’ve been working with the federal government for 15 years. It only takes me about three paycheques to make the money back.
Rogers Place is only a 15-20 minute walk so I only need to take a cab home. I can probably attend between 75-80% of the games at first glance of the schedule since I don’t want to miss relatives birthdays or local wrestling shows. I have a seat on the end of the rink where the Oilers attack twice. And given the Pacific Division is as weaker than the state of the WWE Women’s Tag Team division, I’ll get my seat reserved for the playoffs.

He really is f***ing things up to assemble a team just to take on Tom Wilson Same thing Jim Rutherford did as GM of the Penguins. That's now two organizations that Tom Wilson has eaten the soul of. GM JR tried so hard to recapture the nostalgia instead of moving forward, with most of the moves he's done after the cup runs being huge mistakes. -Trading the 2017 1st and Oskar Sundqvist for Ryan Reaves and 2017 2nd. The reasoning behind JR acquiring Reaves was to add muscle, but the fact is, Ryan Reaves is a far below-average hockey player who brings very little to the table in the grand scheme of things. A ludicrous move on JR's part.
-Signing Jack Johnson to a 5-year deal at $3.25M AAV. Another guy brought in based on physicality. The result? They signed a defenseman who was a black hole offensively, got constantly buried defensively, was slow as shit, incapable of handling the puck, etc....and no matter where he was featured, whether it be the 1st defensive pairing, the 3rd defensive pairing, or even if being deployed on his off-side, Johnson would constantly get caved in. Want to know how bad he was and how it negatively affected his teammates? Well then, feast your eyes on this:
In the end, Jack Johnson would be bought out by the Pens last offseason.
-Trading for Erik Gudbranson, which was a terrible trade considering how awful of a defender Gudbranson is, and a waste of $4M in cap space at that. The Pens however, were able to send him packing to Ottawa.
-The Brandon Tanev deal was considered to be steep when it was first signed, but to Tanev's credit, he's looked good, so I won't comment much about that one. Also, Tanev has been selected by the Kraken too, so that contract is now officially off the books.
-Trading off Dominik Kahun just to bring back Conor Sheary. Another move that really didn't make much sense, especially with Kahun being a solid depth player.
-Trading for an overcooked Patrick Marleau.
-Sending Patric Hornqvist to Florida for Mike Matheson. Another defenseman on a bad contract.
The very flaws of Rutherford were once again exposed in Pittsburgh, and what we witnessed were the same moves that ran the Hurricanes into the ground during his tenure.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But if you thought JR's moves were bad....oh boy, you're in for a real treat now that Dolan's getting more personally involved in team matters with the Rangers. If you're not aware of his involvement with the Knicks, I highly suggest you look into it. Long story short, the man is a total clown. His involvement in Knicks affairs saw them being the laughingstock of the league for years on end. It was terrible team after terrible team, and personnel & PR nightmares galore. Not to mention he's a guy who gets insanely triggered whenever his ownership or management of the team is brought into question.
I fear for the future of the Rangers. If the Knicks are any indication of how things are gonna go from here on out, it's gonna be a shitstorm of epic proportions.

Oilers closing in on an extension with Darnell Nurse. Sounds like it's gonna be $9.25M over 8 years.
The Seth Jones contract really set the market, and not in a good way either. We also have Zach Werenski making $9.5M over 6 years himself. Things are getting real volatile here, and at the rate things are trending, I believe the Leafs may have to seriously consider the prospect of trading Rielly. If these guys are getting top dollar, you can bet your ass Rielly will be too....unless of course he's willing to take a hometown "discount" (if you can even call it that anymore).
I love Rielly, and he's been one of my favorite players to don a Leafs jersey in the 2010s-present, but considering the circumstances of what teams are willing to pay for defensemen and the volatility of the market, if teams are willing to pony up significant assets for him and overpay in a trade, it would be extremely difficult for me to turn it down from a team management standpoint, even though it would hurt to see Rielly in another uniform.

Coyotes are being kicked out their arena after this season!
This is something that is happening!
And since it's very unlikely the Suns' ownership will suddenly have a change of heart and let them move in... Perhaps it's time to look at the move to H-Town, even if Fertitta is a dunce.

I think Houston seems more reasonable, given that if you put the Coyotes in Quebec, you'd have to shuffle the divisions, and Detroit seems to prefer the easier travel of the Atlantic Division despite the lack of history they have with some of the other teams in that division, while a move to Houston allows them to stay in the Central while minimizing travel in that division by a thousand miles or so. Plus, the Toyota Center is a decent enough venue.

I’d say Portland, but with the Kraken just joining, best not to overload the region. Best hockey city still available as far as the US goes is Milwaukee.

I would love to see the money pit in Arizona turn into a gold mine in Quebec. It would be the quickest way to increase the cap and make up for the league's lost profits with Covid. I'm not getting my hopes up though. Hopefully Atlanta turning into a huge success in Winnipeg can help influence it. They can't regret going there.

St. Louis might have issue with that though.

Hell, there are teams down the road from each other (Kings/Ducks, Rangers/Islanders), no reason it wouldn’t work. I’m only entertaining it because KC has a nice arena, though. Would rather see it go to Quebec, Hamilton or Milwaukee. I’d say Hartford but at this point, they couldn’t possibly compete with the Bruins in the New England market.

Henrik Lundqvist retired today. Man, If only the Rangers did not treat him as "the guy" to build around, thus becoming complacent with non-elite skaters. He single handedly brought them to the playoffs year after year, and had to stand on his head to do so. Interested to see how many playoff wins under his tenure were one goal games. With better scoring he should have a cup. With a cup, he's the best Ranger of all time instead of "one of." Foolish Ranger fans out there stupidly think Mike Richter was a better goalie because of 94. Hank outclasses him by a mile.

Chase Field or State Farm stadium WILL NOT WORK for obvious reasons, the old Phoenix coliseum won't work either. I guess it's moving back in with the Suns or they find a new city to call home
