If Edmonton makes it to the finals, there's a very good chance Evander Kane breaks the record for most goals in a playoff year. A guy that 6 months ago was on his way out of the league, could now break a 40+ year old record.

They're definitely primed to move on, but I think it needs to be said: Edmonton could choke and lose in this round, and you could still make a very, very strong case for McDavid as Conn Smyth winner for this year.

I know the Blues won, but I think I'm still dizzy from that McKinnon goal, holy shit.

Rangers will have to sort out getting goals when said goals are taken away. It'll be a tough challenge for sure.

This Flames/Oilers game is phenomenal. These goalies are not good.

That was one wild 2nd period. 4 goals in a minute and 11 seconds, NHL record for the playoffs.

Battle of Alberta lived up to the hype. What an entertaining series. Only thing that could have made it better would be going 7. Already hoping there's a rematch next year.
With the much needed extra rest, I think Tampa will beat whoever gets out of Carolina/NY pretty quickly.

Honestly, I think the rest sometimes hurts teams...but Tampa is just playing so much better than either Carolina or the Rangers are, they have no reason not to annihilate whichever team makes it. Seriously, the top four teams in the Metro all got 100+ points this season, and none of them have looked particularly good in the postseason. Really disappointing.

In general yeah I agree, just think Tampa is an exception in this case. With all they've played over the last three years and being a veteran team, I think the rest will help. Don't see them getting rusty from it but I could be wrong. I should have made it clearer and I meant more towards your second point, I just don't see either Carolina/NY playing well enough to even really give Tampa any trouble at this point.

Nah, I got you, I was just starting with a minor disagreement (how rest sometimes backfires), but as I was writing it my brain was going "dude, look at Tampa, then look at this Canes/Rangers series; this should be a massacre, whichever team wins", so I was mostly agreeing with you. Doesn't mean it will be, mind, but Tampa just looks like a machine.

Looks like we are going to have another epic New York / Tampa Bay showdown right after we just had a one in baseball this past weekend.
