Thank goodness for the Yankees and the Mets, because what the Rangers did tonight for the city of New York I can't put into words.

The Rangers and Carolina apparently thought it was 1996 last night and decided to put everyone to sleep.
Edmonton and Calgary, meanwhile, and running and gunning like man. Looking at the expected goals charts, Edmonton absolutely surged ahead in the third in terms of control and creating chances, so a well-earned W there. Keep the chaos going for seven, fellas.
Still, the league can't be putting McDavid playoff games on at 10:45 EST; I don't want to deprive the west coast fans, obviously, but this guy is playing a different sport than everyone else at this point, he's been a complete monster this playoff and could sway plenty of casual fans to give hockey a chance...but his games are barely halfway done at midnight for the bulk of the continent's population. Just bump these starts to 7pm local time, get them started 10pm EST, at least give people a chance to watch the spectacle.

Fret not, I suspect in due time they will both go right into a skid and if for some reason they don't, They can always live up to the proud NY tradition of choking in the playoffs.

Binnington is out after getting ran into. Kadri, what a big shock. Not sure he returns this series, so we're boned.

Carolina is utterly dominating possession in the 3rd; naturally, this means the Rangers are going to win.
Granted, this was probably the game Igor was going to steal in the series. He's got it in him to steal more, especially with the Canes' powerplay being really sluggish right now. But man, otherwise Carolina's been the far better team.
DeAngelo looks like shit. You hate to see it.

Well, that call is up there with "the entire offensive line."
"Everybody else in the penalty box, 2 miniutes for roughing."

I didn't see the game, but not terribly surprised that the Rangers took one. I was so happy to see the highlights of the final minutes when Max Domi tries to start something and gets jumped by the entire team. He's a chip off the ol block, his dad is a POS too.

I will forever blame Tie for costing the Devils the 2001 cup after injuring Scott Niedermayer in round two of the playoffs. The 2001 team was probably the best overall club in Devils history, and for them to lose in seven to Colorado was just so wrong.

If they call one more Tampa goal back or if Florida scores next, these Tampa fans are going to lose it.

Seeing him taken out by a useless plug was pretty awful.

He hurt Scott, and he subjected Devils fans to years and years of "Well, yeah, Brodeur's numbers are better, but Roy beat him when it counted!", and Ray Borque winning the Cup and thus making 1994 and 2001 the years of "Hey Devils fans, we won't show YOUR team's three Cup wins during commercials and hype videos for the playoffs, but enjoy these looks at years you lost to the eventual winners, instead!" Unforgivable.

You know... as someone who loves Canada not winning a cup for over 30 years... I might be entering the phase where Calgary is the 2nd best option.

It's Game 1 all over again in Alberta. This time with the Flames on the backfoot and charging back.
