WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Rangers baby! Playin with house money! With absolutely no pressure on them in the next round, here's hoping they can somehow pull off the ultimate upset! On Paper Tampa Bay should win comfortably but the Rangers have won five sudden death games now. That builds momentum & belief.

Yeah, I could sit here and complain about the Rangers getting to face backup goalies, but, uh, they're 8 wins away from a title and Sheshterkin can easily defeat even a healthier team. Lightning have a couple key injuries, though granted Vas is a much tougher goalie for the Rangers to face...but still, Shesh can steal another four games and it wouldn't be too big a shock.

Oh boy, the Western Conference is at it again. 2 goals in ridiculously fast succession.

So there I was saying Tampa looked like a machine after that Florida series, and instead, even after having a bunch of days off before this series, they just looked cooked so far.
The East this year...Christ, it looks bad. There've been a few individual good games here and there, some good individual performances (mainly the two goalies in this series, though Vas isn't looking too sharp early on here), but given how utterly mediocre Florida and Carolina looked it's really jarring just how "blah" everyone's been. Would make me extra salty if I was a Leafs fan; they felt like one of the only teams with a pulse, but, well, we know how that went.
Hopefully Edmonton and Colorado keep up the insanity for the sake of all of our entertainment.

Signing with ESPN for more money should have been a great thing for the sport, but this audio has been a problem for a number of games this deep into the season and for very important playoff games. Absolute 3rd rate shit. When your audio has more problems than f***ing VERSUS, you're trash.

I'm still confident the Rangers shit the bed. The last victory was just that. They won't be winning again.

I don't know if the Rangers choked this one away. I am disappointed we didn't get over time. The Lightning win this in my opinion a very soft goal, a big time goalie makes that save.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the beginning of the Ranger's skid.
Better luck next year (I'm kidding I know you'll fail again next year too)

I wouldn't say the game winning goal was soft, but I get wanting a save there.
Still, Tampa had the ice tilted their way for basically the entire second half of that game, yet could still only net 3 and win on a late goal. They really need to get Igor to move more laterally, just peppering him with shots isn't going to cut it.
That said, Vas hasn't really made his mark yet, and I'll be interested in seeing what Tampa's game plan is in game four; this is the spot where a team with championship credentials gets to show its mettle, so it's still pretty do or die for them at this stage.

Oh, for the love of God.
Seriously, that's huge for Tampa or New York. If the Rangers make it they'll officially be on the luckiest playoff streak ever in terms of opponent health/injuries.
Speaking of which, not exactly luck given the goalie involved, but look at this:
My knee jerk reaction is "I keep saying the Rangers aren't playing well, and here's more proof!", but I suppose one could argue that they might play a lax defensive game because they're confident Igor will stop everything.
...ok, the latter would make sense if he had like 70-80 such saves, but 117?!

It’s because they aren’t an offensive prowess and really need to score 4 goals a game to get a comfortable W. Thus they chose offense.

A song I wrote for The Rangers;
Suck it to the limit
Miss all easy looks
But don't look down just keep your head, or you'll be finished
suck it to the limit
Past the point of no return
Reached the top, but still you gotta figure out how to blow it
Hit the ice and double the disappointment
Your goals wide open like an empty net
You could be the very shittieeeest

I do fantasize about what it's like to have a team that reasonably has a chance.
It's not in my sig anymore, but, 2011 was the last championship NY will ever win, at least in my lifetime.

God damn you are pessimistic. Pessimistic but right. The Rangers suck so bad they would lose a coin toss calling heads on a two headed coin The Islanders are the Dolph Ziggler of the NHL, just existing Jets/Giants are now enhancement talent teams. Mets/Yankees are doing now but I've seen the story before and they will hit a skid either before or exactly during the playoffs.
