If Dominos were smart, they could work with AEW to leverage this into a long-term sponsorship:
Excalibur: “Gage pulls out the Dominos pizza cutter! Brought to you by Dominos! The home of 3-topping carryout pizzas for only $7.99 each!!”

Dominos are overreacting but I get their unhappiness and reluctance for a repeat if you sell food you don't want it associated with blood or any other bodily fluids. As for Pabst Blue Ribbon: hush brand.

As for Pabst Blue Ribbon: hush brand. Yeah, I don't think they really give a shit about the violence. Gage using the pizza cutter on Jericho, and then going to a Dominos commercial where an employee is cutting up a pizza was just really bad timing. It was funny, but they don't want their company to be associated with bloody pizza cutters.

Are there any other sources for this? That one sounds dubious. Might be someone telling porkers.

If American Dominoes is anything like New Zealand Dominoes then i wouldn't be pulling advertising since they probably need all the help they can get. Seriously there's 4 pizza chains (5 if you count the Turkish place) in my hometown and Dominoes is easily dead bottom. Average bases, average sauce, too small, not filling. Blah.
Now Papa Johns is really who you want to advertise your show. Had one after the Mania 35 SD taping and man it was good. Easily the nicest pizza i had that day.
Oh and like Nic Gage or whatever.

Domino's sound like cop callers to me.

I'm pretty sure there's plenty of pizza restaurants that would want that ad space instead of Domino's and their shitty pizza. Unless it's Little Caesar's, whose pizza is about as bad as Domino's. Man, Little Caesars is great pizza!

I showed a friend this clip, and he said that fighting the Noid is probably one of Jericho's labors.

I love how all these goofball articles are posturing this as AEW having deliberately cut to a Domino’s commercial after the spot, as if the company has any control over when ads air.
Turner aired the ad. Turner also approved the match airing in the first place. I know a certain tennis enthusiast and his lackeys are having a field day with this, but it’s really a non-starter. If Dynamite continues its strong demographic ratings, Domino’s will be there with bells on advertising their shitty pizza. If not, more marketing-savvy companies like Wendy’s (or, yes, even PBR) will more than make up the slack.

My favourite part was the quote where they say "AEW is a newer product that's chasing away critics and viewers with its violence" and follow it up in the next paragraph with "The show did its 4th highest ratings in its history" with zero sense of irony.

Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic! Like, what shoddy reporting...what does that even mean? Ah, yes, normally I would enjoy this kind of deathmatch wrestling, but I dunno, this pandemic really has me rethinking my values. I'm aghast!

Domino's sucks. As mentioned earlier, Papa John's makes way more sense for AEW as a sponsor

This is so ridiculous. For one, that article quotes someone who gave the most generic PR response possible. It means little to nothing. But it's also silly because the movie that immediately followed Dynamite featured an extremely graphic murder scene that was more violent than anything else I saw that night. What movie was that?

Law Abiding Citizen - it opens with a family being violently murdered.

I get that having your pizza ad air alongside a guy getting his head sliced open with a pizza cutter is not the best look, professionally.
But, how many people saw that ad just because of the placement? How many people talked about Domino's just because of this? Ads are supposed to get attention and get people talking so I'd say Domino's got their monies worth out of this one.

That article is some sloppy, sloppy work, and the sensationalism of "THEY DISAVOW IT AND MIGHT STOP RUNNING ADS" when they reached out for comment and got an empty PR response is some real hilarity. But I trust this website with a top-of-page banner ad telling me to take their home-grown course to give me athlete marketing certification to let me become an agent for college athletes. I have the utmost trust in all of this.

Where I live doesn't have many good pizzeria options.
It's either Domino's (the only one I go to, strangely), Little Caesar's (who don't sell medium pizzas), Pizza Hut (too greasy, I stopped eating there a long time ago), Papa John's (had a racist founder), or a local pizzeria with a confusing menu.

They responded when asked for comment with the most milquetoast possible corporate response, and now here we are.
