With me it's not even about Hangman,. I'm just bored with Christian in any main event/world title scene and that's due to decades of me watching him wrestle. WWE, ECW, TNA, AEW, that's just how it is. A lot of people think people are soured on Christian due to WWE's booking of him over the past decade but nah, some people can just not like how booking is no matter how good a guy's wrestling skills are and no matter how well they can talk on the mic. With Christian it was ok in 2011 but after that nah, keep him in the upper midcard. With this it's like "alright, nah you're cool and all but I'd rather see somebody else."
And the same with me and Jericho (Jericho as world champion I couldn't believe with the other guys on the roster), same with me and any superstar I've been watching for over 20 years. The only ones where it sorta passed for me is Taker and that's because Taker's gimmick is otherworldly.
You can feel different but I'm never going to be excited for Christian in a world title match. I just don't vibe with it. If it were a decade ago then absolutely but in 2021, nah. The only way I can possibly vibe with something like that is if it's a retirement match. If it's not one of those then it's like a "ok, what are we really doing here?" situation.
Oh, that's perfectly okay, of course, tastes are tastes. I was just addressing the "something WWE would do", but if you also don't like Jericho or any old guy in the spot I absolutely respect that. I feel differently about Christian because to my mind his long hiatus and being in a new territory, as well as his long history of being underpushed (to my mind) makes it seem like fresh unexplored territory for him to get that run in the sun. Although I'll still be happy if he never makes the main event as long as he actually gets some compelling feuds and moments, as well as great matches. I suppose it's the same thing with how some people think Punk being in the world title match at All Out would be compelling, whereas I would absolutely hate it - not anything against Punk, but against the entire concept of any guy coming in and immediately being in a world title match, much less a guy who hasn't wrestled for the better part of a decade.

The majority of fan predicted Cage was getting a title match against Omega at some point. They've been building to it for a while now, so this isn't exactly surprising. I get that it seemed like they were building to a Page/Omega title match at All Out, but we also should get predictable WWE booking tropes out of our heads with how AEW operates. Whether you want to argue the may led fans on in lieu of ticket sales, I can understand that frustration, but they also never advertised that match was ever taking place, so you can't call foul on them. Fans who purchase tickets off a blind card should always be aware they're running the risk of not getting what they expect, I can't sympathize with them here. I so forgot he was Christian CAGE now, I thought you were talking about Brian Cage and got so confused Between Page and Page and Cage and Cage, WWE might have had the right idea with their only one "Steve" allowed policy Page, Page, Cage & Cage sounds like it should be a law firm.

The word on the street now is that Page is taking time off due to the birth of his child. So it seems like we can now officially say he's out of All Out. I wouldn't mind Omega beating either Punk or Bryan, and then being confronted by a returning Adam Page to a massive pop. It would put over the homegrown boy.
"Yea, these former WWE stars are fun and all, but this is the guy, this is our guy."
At least that's the angle I'd try to go for.

If Page doesn't win the AEW World Championship at Full Gear.....I will become very angry.

So thinking about things more, I did overreact a tad (even though there are people here that did make it less fun with stuff) but after the Cage/Omega match yesterday, I'm more than happy to join back in and change my username because their All Out match should be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun

This Impact Title match almost felt designed to sell people that this match would be great because they held back on A LOT and still did THAT. These two have f***ing good chemistry in ring. We all have said for pages how much it sucks Hangman seems to have his moment pushed back. But if it's for the birth of his kid? And this was something he decided to do? Then I can't fault him or AEW. In the end if Punk and Danielson both show up on All Out... they'll be plenty of moments at the PPV to be hype for... and then they can potentially refocus a bit more and let Hangman stand out on what would be the Anniversary of Omega beating him in the Tournament. I think they've done a great job making lemonade out of unfortunate lemons. For how hot the crowd was? Christian's shown he's still very over and he can more than still go especially after tonight's match. So if this is the road? I'm fine with it and I'm hyped for it. I am intrigued if we see Orange Cassidy thrown in the mix though. He was watching the Impact Title match and was seen hanging around Christian's celebration... guess we'll have to see.

As sad as I am about the fact that I am likely losing out on my wager, I will say I'm perfectly okay with Christian getting the title shot and generally taking the Shawn Michaels role in AEW. He's got plenty of great matches left in him and I have no doubt he'll have a classic with Omega at All Out.

I do wonder if AEW really wants to do two triple threat title matches in a row on two consecutive PPVs (with Orange in the mix, incidentally).

Match was great last night but there is still 0 chance that Christian wins at All Out which is my biggest issue.

Eh, personally, if I went into title matches with that mindset, I wouldn’t enjoy them as much. Hell, Fuego/Miro was fantastic and I knew that Fuego stood zero chance of winning. If you make me buy for a second you could, job done, really.

I mean, I paid €20 (PPV isn’t as big in Europe so prices were always about this level) to see Cassidy/PAC/Omega and I knew that nobody but Omega was winning. I get what you’re saying but, well, I just can’t agree with it.

CM Punk, Hiroshi Tanahashi Vs. Jon Moxley (most likely) and god knows what else. Even if the main event isn't what you were hoping for, you're still probably going to get one of the greatest wrestling events of all time. Well worth the $330.

Well worth the $330. This is fair. But I really need to be getting Tanahashi for me to feel it’s worth it. Cause even tho Punk vs Darby is cool, it’s still a match I know exactly who the winner is. It’s a personal thing, obviously, but I really like when matches have intrigue over who wins. Which is another problem if it does wind up as Bucks vs Lucha Bros.

Honestly I'd have preferred Hangman challenging for the belt to Christian doing so, but circumstances sadly made that one impossible. Even still I think this one will be the greatest wrestling show of all time, and I'm about 90% sure Moxley Vs. Tanahashi will be a thing.

Its why I wanted Punk as the title match because anything could happen. We’ll see. Tanahashi would be so amazing. Jay White however.....

I'd actually say Darby has a better chance of beating Punk. Still a low chance, but there are obvious storyline possibilities and riffs from Punk losing to Darby in his first match back that I could conceivably see Punk wanting to run with, depending on what he has in mind for an AEW run.
