The problem with guessing Punk fighting for the title is that they’ve been really laying it on thick with Darby pretty much all but saying he wants to fight Punk. Yeah, I don’t believe for a second Punk is challenging for the title yet. If he IS fighting Omega it should be non title. Besides, Punk will probably face Darby anyway. Which, I feel will be the Main event if it isn’t Omega vs Hangman.

I agree with you wholeheartedly which is why I think Punk is still the guy. The fans would accept that. How would you book that, though? I don't think anyone's given a good enough answer to that yet. It would have to be something like Christian showing up in Pittsburgh, declaring that he's going to challenge Kenny for the title at All Out, then issuing an open challenge for First Dance as a warmup to prove he's the best. In Chicago, Punk answers and goads Christian into putting No. 1 contendership on the line. Punk wins. I really don't want that to happen, but I do agree that Punk is the one non-Hangman option that the All Out crowd wouldn't outright reject. That said, Punk would probably have to win the title. And, while straight edge smarmy douche against angsty alcoholic millennial cowboy is a feud that writes itself, Hangman not exorcising his Kenny demon and winning the championship after all this time would be a massive, massive letdown. Hangman just beating Kenny on his path to Punk or something would be nowhere near as satisfying a conclusion to the story as just dethroning him at All Out. And I really think AEW knows that.

Isn’t Page going on paternity leave? That’s what I was thinking at first, but that hasn’t been announced or anything. Don't believe so; nobody knows exactly when his kid is due, but going by the timeline of when he posted the ultrasound on Insta (I haven't done this myself, going by what others have said, here) the kid is more likely due at the end of the year, not fall. Now, if that's incorrect and there's indeed a chance he and his wife are expecting around the time of All Out? Very different story, but nobody's said one way or the other, and the only hint anybody's gone by makes it seem like it's later.

The Elite crash the Punk/Darby face off (match?) at First Dance leading to the headline matches if All Out being Punk vs Omega and Bucks vs Darby/Sting

I don't see Punk / Kenny happening, but I don't really buy the Punk / Darby thing either. They're laying it on so thick that it kind of feels like it's a swerve to do Darby / Bryan instead, especially because if you're bringing in Punk - a guy mostly known for his mic skills - then first thing matching him up against someone who barely talks seems absolutely bizarre.

He's gonna debut there.

Can I at least get added to the against list on the original post?

Not a betting man, so no wager from me, but the way they're setting things up I still think the odds for All Out are on

I don’t know what they’re going to do. But I know this: after last week I thought it would be a huge mistake to not to do the match at All Out. After further teasing it this week, they would be out of their minds not to do it. It’s elevated to the point where people probably would be mighty pissed off, more than before.

I like the idea of Hangman playing the Daniel Bryan to Kenny's Orton and Christian's Batista.
Christian already sounded very heelish in his promo tonight.

I'm actually very curious what the reaction would be like if they do go with Christian given the reaction tonight was very positive right up until he started talking about going for the title and the crowd was immediately like, "Ehhhh.... No...."

I don't have enough 100% confidence to bet, but tonight the story was still entirely 100% Hangman vs. Kenny. The only wrinkle was Christian becoming the new #1 contender but he didn't have any interaction with Omega and I still feel like is like the other guy in a romcom who's having a wedding while Hangman's in his Dark Night of the Soul part of the beat sheet going 'ohhh I'm not gonna get marrieedddd' before he makes his triumphant run up back to the church for the wedding/wrestling show to declare his title shot at All Out.
It feels like they're playing to the wire here for maximum engagement but it's to the point of stress so I dunno if I would have gone this deep in the "will they, won't they" part of this for this long. It's a definite risk to hold on this long especially if they end up not doing Hangman/Omega.

That's a big part of the reason I don't want Christian to be put into that position. Somehow, this has been one of, if not the best run of his entire career. He doesn't deserve to get sacrificed to the wolves like that.

The story of this has become “are they messing this up”, and less the story. It feels like AEW decided to swerve and add tension that way, but it just hasn’t been fun.

Yeah I'd legit rather have his title shot get a weak HFO interference costing him the match on Dynamite or Rampage than for him to get the sudden brunt of heat for no reason when all the story really needs to be is Hangman vs. Kenny.

Christian turning heel on Jungle Boy when trying to console him after a Pittsburgh Rampage loss would be an excellent lead in to a PPV match.

Christian said about BFs having their back BUT OC is also in the Top 5 ranking, and JB is probably Number 2 in the ranking..

I just don't see how it isn't Hangman vs Omega at All Out when AEW did THREE seperate segments about it on the show
Christian's the next challenger but First Dance seems like the place to put that match. You don't do three separate segments of development for Hangman and Omega without that being the endgame though.

If I was a betting man, I think the odds would favor Hangman vs Omega straight up at All Out while Christian gets his #1 contender's match at The First Dance. But while I think the chances of Omega vs. Christian at All Out are very low, I could see there being the possibility of a triple threat match.
They're laying it on way too thick with the Hangman storyline where it would come off as outright spite to not involve Hangman in the title match.
