As per WrestlingINCI am not the biggest believer in Adam Cole, and I hate to say it, but it's purely because of his size and look. Nothing else against his efforts. But let's say he does decide to leave, at some point AEW has to arrive at a crossroads; do they just sign every ex-WWE talent that is a free agent, or do they finally say "No, we have enough"? I'm sad that Adam's size bothers me so much because he can clearly talk, and is one of those guys that do the kind of work that I really like - out of these current dudes, I'm pretty old school when it comes to wrestling - but I know a lot of people really like him, and that's great. He might as well just re-sign, too, of course. I also don't know anything about how credible one WrestlingINC is.

Hopefully he goes and fulfills his potential elsewhere as their are soanh options out there now and let's be honest,he would bomb on the main roster and be cut within a year so I'd say screw it and get out!

Fightful confirmed this story too so yeah it's confirmed. We've been talking about this some in the Pandemic Release thread.

Not any time soon if Khans interviews of "Now is the time to sign talent" are anything to go by. They now have four wrestling shows to put talent on And since this is confirmed by Fightful, Cole has so many friends and also a wife in AEW. It'd make the most sense if he didn't re-sign and they aren't gonna say no. Especially with Cole's instant crossover appeal with New Japan.

He could leave & make the same/more money and be with his spouse/friends. Iād be shocked if he stays.

Iād imagine HHH is going to try and get him to stay because, well, heās still a draw to NXT if weāre going by quarters and the like but heād have to do a lot of convincing because he wouldnāt be the first talent to re-sign and then get burned.
Like, in between Krossā call-up (with the belt) starting on the wrong foot, to put it lightly, the recent slew of releases and Vince joking publicly that he should do moreā¦yeah, talent relations have their work going for them.

Go to the company where my mates and my missus are big stars, or risk it all by staying and hoping that the boss doesnāt notice that Iām not actually that big? Tough decisions.

Hell of an Irony if AEW hires him, getting the top star of NXT of the time.they went head to head.
Honestly I always assume it was more of a matter of time with his best but, missus there and with AEW playing crossover bullet club.

Adam Cole is just a natural fit it AEW but it is an interesting question. At some point they will have to pass on a big name.
I think that applies more to Braun and Bray though, they're both less natural fits.

I think that applies more to Braun and Bray though, they're both less natural fits. Cole would come in and immediately feud with The Elite, whereas Bray and Braun aren't real tight fits for AEW. I think they'd be better suited in ROH or Impact. Hell with MLW trying to relaunch Lucha Underground, why not show up there?

If he stays, I can't imagine it'd be on the cheap. As much as blow as it'd be to NXT for him to leave, there isn't really much of anything left for him to do if he did stay, and if they called him up, he'd presumably want a raise. Given what WWE's doing, cutting big contracts, etc, I don't really see why they'd be interested in throwing money at him to say.
I do imagine Triple H and HBK wouldn't be thrilled, obviously, but I don't think they'd be able to fault him, either, if he does walk.

Honestly even if Cole's ultimate aspiration is to be big on the main roster, even then I'd say probably the best move for his career would be to leave. He's stalled out on NXT and he'd be a dud if he were called up now; he's still young so if he leaves and goes on an AJ Styles-like tear elsewhere for a couple of years he could quite likely come back in at way more money and seen as a much bigger deal than he would be now.

Yeah, if he leaves, he'd be worth more in 2-3 years to WWE than he would be now, in all likelihood.

If Cole did go to AEW, this wouldn't just be AEW picking up another WWE guy because of his history with the Elite (and obviously, Britt Baker being there.) It seems a good fit for him, especially if he can work other places as well.
