Stuff at work today.
Also though, in the past two weeks I've had 3 Pathfinder/D&D sessions cancelled at the last possible minute, two of them after I'd already arrived. This was with 3 separate groups. The one that just got cancelled a half hour ago was actually rescheduled from my birthday. There were legit reasons for missing, but it's still frustrating. I haven't slept yet (I work nights) and now I can't thanks to an energy drink I'd downed before heading out.

I have pneumonia for the second time in as many months and am going to miss a festival I wanted to go to tomorrow.

I tried asking a girl out and got a polite no. Makes me really self conscious about if there’s something off about me which I can’t see.

Was in line waiting to pay for my lunch and heard a couple of girls behind me talking about their friend being in a absolutely miserable relationship but how it was really ok because "at least they are in a relationship at all and that's what matters".
I feel like that woman in that relationship should not deal with being unhappy with someone and should be happy with her life, rather there's someone else or not. Kind of feel for this person because I get the sense she feels like she has to gut it out when that's not the case at all. It's good taking care of others but there are times you have to be a little selfish to be happy with your life. I don't know this person but I feel sorry for her and her what I think are awful friends. She deserves better and whoever you are, hope you get something better.
In other news, Kids Choice Awards is tonight and I'm ALREADY seeing people getting pissed of that SpongeBob is likely going to win best cartoon again for the 20th something year. I will never understand why people get so unnecessarily infatuated about a cartoon wining a fictional award. Maybe this is a I'm mad at people being mad thing but it's like if my biggest problem in life was a cartoon award, I'd be doing pretty good.

I tried asking a girl out and got a polite no. Makes me really self conscious about if there’s something off about me which I can’t see. It can be tricky to silence self-doubt when you feel rejected. Try to remember that her no is not a reflection of your value, your self-worth or any of that. There are a million reasons she might have said no that have nothing to do with you. Almost no one gets a yes every time. The fact that you asked is excellent and it's important to not let that 'no' live rent free in your head. Most folks will hear 'no' more than they hear 'yes' with stuff like this.

I mean, it was a polite no. I definitely had some rejections where that would have been a welcome change. Having someone act offended that you might think she might possibly lower herself to go on a date with you can do a number on your ego. A polite no could mean many things that have nothing to do with you: - Maybe she has feelings for someone else right now. - Maybe she has recently had a breakup and isn’t looking for a relationship right now. - Heck, maybe she just isn’t looking for a relationship at all right now. I had a lab partner in college who, while pretty, deliberately dressed down to not accentuate that because she was focused on school and school alone. Nice girl though. - Maybe you don’t have the right equipment and she isn’t comfortable letting people know her orientation right now. - I knew another girl from college who went out of her way to avoid being seen in public with any men because her dad was controlling with regards to boys.

My power was out for 5 days thanks to hurricane Beryl. My power just came on today. While it was out I had to move my ATT Fiber modem so the plug could reach the generator extension cord.
Everything was going smoothly after power came on until I decided to move the modem back to its original spot. Bad idea. I somehow pulled the fiber cable out of the wall on accident and I'm stuck with no internet until I can get a technician out here and that may not be until Monday. Ughhhh.

AGAIN, too many celebrity deaths. I should have known the other shoe was dropping as we didn't have, like, numerous ones day after day for awhile. It always sucks, as it's change and that frightens me sometimes.

This heat plus humidity man. It’s been 90+ with high humidity for about three weeks and it’s not slowing down. Everything outside is a chore.
I run hot to begin with, it’s worse for some reason after I lost weight. I just constantly sweat and it looks like I ran a marathon five minutes outside:
Now it’s actually making me physically ill. Supposed to be about 100 the next couple days with ball drenching humidity again.

My recovery from this latest bout of pneumonia has been slow going. Thinking that maybe Urgent Care prescribed an ineffective medication, I called my physician yesterday and left a message with his secretary. Later in the day got a text from CVS, your script is ready for pickup. Thinking it was from him, I forced myself out to pick it up.
This morning I took my first dose-and then realized it was prescribed by the same doctor from Urgent Care. I was supposed to have been taking two meds in tandem, but it took them that long to get the other one, explaining the anemic pace of recovery. A google search also revealed the delayed medication would have been the fast acting one.
I called my physician to update the details. He suggested holding off on the second one, as I am this far into the first one. A fine how do you do, since I already took a dose. He also informed me he is prescribing a cough syrup for the bad fits, not an anti-biotic. I’m tempted to just keep taking the second one in tandem with the first as I was meant to, but his advice has never done me bad before. Meanwhile I get to continue recovering at a snail’s crawl.
To whatever witch doctor I pissed off-I cry uncle already.

I passed out last night getting a snack. That’s never happened to me before. Thankfully, it happened while I was opening the refrigerator and my grip on it failed not only after my legs gave out but after my hold on the door handle affected my fall. I have a slab foundation and having my head hit hard could have been BAD.
As it is, I bruised the ever loving hell out of my funny bone and somehow sprained my foot. The walking boot is awkward , uncomfortable, and still lets my foot hurt.

Gotten where if it is past 11am and before 5pm I try to not be outside. Today just the 2 minute walk from the car to the various junk and thrift stores I would be wiping sweat off my heat as I entered the stores. When we stopped to get a drink I grabbed a handful of napkins. Put those in my pocket. And each store as I walked in and pulled my sunglasses and hat off I was mopping my head and brow from the heat. Keep saying I am gonna move where summers are 60 degrees. Hell even 70 to 80 I can handle if the humidity wasn't 100%. This is why since I was 13 I have mostly kept my head shaved. Lived 80% of my life in areas with horrible humidity.

It was 102 degrees today and I worked on a roof and I’m just sick right now. It’s been about as hot a July as I can remember.

So far we haven't hit the high's of last summer. Got so hot and no rain our minnow pond up front almost dried up. Man I can imagine how hot a roof was. I got overheated 2 days in a row a few weekends ago. Made me sick for 2 days.

People who decide to comment things like "you don't sound happy" or "are you having a bad day?" during business interactions on the phone.
I am sorry that yours was the fifth phone call in a row I have taken without even having a chance to document it. I am sorry that it is frustrating to me to be taking so many phone calls when I am already trying to catch up on the enormous volume of claims I was assigned since Beryl knocked out our Houston offices. I do my best to control my tone of voice and be pleasant, but I cannot be "on" 100% of the time, and you spend enough time talking your voice naturally gets tired and rougher.
Saying stuff like that on the phone is essentially them forcing me to discuss my personal business in a professional interaction. Some may disagree, but if I am still providing the correct information, I think the people calling in can have a little grace with me instead of trying to dig into the mystery of why I don't sound as cheerful as they would prefer. Surely their inquiry into it will raise my mood, rather than making me think they're just kind of a Karen.

My work shoes are definitely due to get replaced. It's not that big a deal, and my current ones can hold out for long enough for the new ones to come, I'm sure, but it's an expense I'd really rather do without considering I had to cut into my savings for some expenses as it is. I can afford it, it just sucks that I have to.

The Foo Fighters just left the stage mid concert due to severe weather here at Citi Field. Doubtful the show continues.
