Just something I've been thinking about lately. During this time period, I never really watched Smackdown since everyone wrestled on RAW anyway and the show was still taped. I know Smackdown used to be labeled as the B show compared to RAW even during the brand split, BUT this actually felt like a B show in terms of nothing really happening on them in terms of major storyline progression. Is there really anything of note that happened on Smackdown during this time frame?

The live threads did move at a snail's pace during the summer/fall 2015 period.
Only a few people posting in them usually.

Yeah it took WWE all of like two weeks to give up having literally anything of note happen on Smackdown as soon as they got rid of the brand split.

This is why I can't believe anyone can be Anti-split... we've seen what they do when there isn't one.
It's literally RAW! and then... Also kinda raw?

It was a shame what the WHC became.

It literally felt like a recap of RAW, just with actual matches.

Team Hell No & Randy Orton ended the Shield's undefeated steak on an episode of Smackdown in May 2013.
And that's about it.

It felt like every single week’s main event was a tag team match merging two feuds.

Yeah, I stopped watching Smackdown around that time because it was actively killing my enjoyment of the product, in the sense that I was just watching Raw, but blue.
Like, watching Smackdown meant the product was getting stale at a rapid pace because I was seeing everyone twice a week doing the same shit instead of once.

Smackdown was unwatchable in this time period. It was like an extremely expensive episode of Main Event.

Undertaker wrestled his final Smackdown match which was against Dean Ambrose on the April 22nd 2013 episode in London.
One thing I am grateful I got to see live as by then he was only wrestling at WrestleMania and hadn't wrestled on TV in 3 years.

Right, the time of “RAW SuperShow”, which usually just meant some combination of Sheamus, Orton or Del Rio having two matches a week instead of one.
(It’s because of this that Sheamus in 2012 has the most televised wins in a single year of any talent in the 15 and a half year period between the start of 2006 and now, he went 77-19-2 that year)

Its funny so many remember Bryan and Vinny freaking out about TNA's infamous periods, but if you go back and listen to those B&V shows from 2013-2016 you can hear both gradually get ground down by the repetitive and mind numbing nature of Smackdown in this era.

God it was just SO atrocious during this period.
I'd been begging for the brand split to come back for years and I felt so vindicated when it finally happened. Brand Split Smackdown at its worst is still lightyears better than "we're literally only doing this show because we have the TV deal" Smackdown.
