I'm pretty much operating under the impression there's zero chance this is going to be any good - kind of just too many factors against it between who's making it and how the source material is handcuffed from being allowed to do anything interesting these days - but I'll probably end up seeing it whenever it's streaming somewhere.

Still have faith it’ll be fun, there’s a big mountain of potential in a CGI Mario film. Just do an animated adaptation of the Mario Adventures comic from Nintendo Power and it’ll probably be engaging.

You know what? I'm down for a Mario Origin story. Maybe Donkey Kong ends up being an antagonist? Could link that to a Donkey Kong movie if they are wanted to do a Nintendo Cinematic Universe in the future. But one step at a time.

This might have just been a thing from the Anatomy of SMB book, but is it a fan theory that Spike ended up becoming Wario? (in the original Wrecking Crew, Spike has the same orange color scheme Wario does...) |

I don't really have a whole lot of interest in this film, unless it secretly turns out to be an unannounced sequel to the 1993 live-action movie. Don't look at me like that dammit, you know you all secretly want this to be a thing.  |

What's the over/under that there's a racing scene somewhere, because Mario Kart? I wouldn't be shocked if they hold out on referencing that in the name of potentially doing a whole Mario Kart-themed movie at some point seeing as Mario Kart sells better than standard Mario does. |
