Ah yes, the show where DK was so pants-on-head stupid that a pirate once tricked him into believing he was a krok by placing an empty picture frame in between them and pretending it was a mirror. That being said, the song’s pretty dope. Like he doesn't question the "mirror"'s lips not matchign his own... either when he sings or when the "reflection" sings...

The movie is reportedly going to be 1h32m, so just about 90 minutes. That's a reasonable time.

I've found very few movies need to be more than 2 hours long... a lot of the ones that go way over that have a ton of unnecessary stuff that could have been cut to make the movie flow better... (and then there are the ones that are both overly bloated and still seem like they're missing a ton of information...) and something like The Super Mario Brothers shouldn't be a 3 hour long epic...

Only Nintendo film that could go over 2 hours would be either Metroid or Zelda.

That and still nowadays most animated films rarely cross over the two hour thresh hold due to the large amount of time the whole process of putting together the film it self takes. (Especially the rendering process.)

I feel like the solution to the "Man, trailers spoil too much" problem is to not watch trailers?

I feel like the solution to the "Man, trailers spoil too much" problem is to not watch trailers? Yeah if I'm sold on a movie with one trailer... I really don't need to see more

This feels like a Greatest Hits of the Mario series, along with having the most popular (yet overused) names.
I mean, I would never ever expect them to go back and use characters like Wart, Tatanga or Smithy...but it's like they went all out with making sure to fit every Mario Kart/Party character into this movie. It's part of why I don't really like the newer Mario games since they hardly change up the structure, and have about 15 characters that make up the franchise. And yes, I know Foreman Spike is getting a cameo, but this just seems like something that'll be there at the very beginning of the movie (Mario's boss) before Mario is transferred to the Mushroom Kingdom.

All due respect, I don’t get what the complaint is exactly Not really a complaint as much as it's an observation. I guess it's just me, but the general saturation of how the Mario games have felt over the last 20 years or so, and having that bleed into this movie...I guess I would have preferred keeping it simpler, which would have provided more opportunities if they wanted to make sequels. If you look back, 4 of the first 6 mainline Super Mario games has a different antagonist, but now it's just the same plotline now, just with more supporting characters. It's just speculation on my end, but when you stack every marketed Mario character into one movie, you're not giving yourself an opportunity to change it up if you made additional movies, other than maybe changing the environments. We know that it's essential that any mainline Mario game is going to pit Mario against Bowser, but does that translate well into a movie franchise? Again just an observation not really a complaint, but if this movie is a massive hit, do they have anything fresh for potential sequels?
