- Dak Draper out for commentary

1. Dalton Castle (w/The Chicks) beat Eli Isom. Dak Draper left commentary mid-match and went to ringside to help Castle. after Isom took out The Chicks with a dive, Draper went into the ring to attack Isom, but Isom hit a low blow. Castle won after a Bang-A-Rang.

2. Taylor Rust beat Jake Atlas. match may have possibly been called early by the ref, as he called for the bell as soon as Rust put on the Gaia Lock and seemed concerned Atlas was really hurt.

3. Violence Unlimited (Homicide, Chris Dickinson & Tony Deppen) beat John Walters, LSG & Lee Moriarty in a Six-Man Tag Team match. finish saw Dickinson hit a Spicolli Driver on Moriarty. post match Walters and LSG started arguing, but The Foundation comes out to cool them off. Lethal cut a lengthy promo put over the three wrestlers and the entire Pure division.

4. OGK (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) beat the Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe). near the end of the match the Briscoes brought a chair into the ring and Mark tried to give Taven a Redneck Boogie on it, but Bennett made the save. finish saw Jay go for a J-Driller, but Taven countered into a small package for the three count.

5. Josh Woods beat Jonathan Gresham (c) to WIN THE ROH PURE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! both wrestlers lost all three of their rope breaks at the same time by being caught in a hold in the ropes and couldn't/wouldn't break the holds, and the referee got sick of their ignoring his count and penalized them both. the match originally ended in a draw when, after a series of rolling pins, the two landed in a double pinfall. Gresham got on the microphone and refused to let a Pure title match end like that, and demanded the match be restarted. Woods won after a German suplex-type move (he was holding Gresham like he was going for a Tombstone, then flung him backwards like a German suplex)

6. Shane Taylor Promotions (Moses, Kaun & O'Shay Edwards) (c) beat La Facción Ingobernable (Dragon Lee, Kenny King & La Bestia del Ring) to retain the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. Shane Taylor originally came out for the match, but King jumped him as he was walking around the ring and beat the crap out of him with a chair. Edwards then demanded to take his place as Taylor was helped to the back. finish saw referee distracted by checking on most of the wrestlers, who were down on the floor, allowing Shane Taylor to come out and attack King with a chair, followed by Moses getting the pin. post match STP posed over King while holding up a fan's sign that said "Ingobernable Bitches".

7. Rok-C beat Miranda Alize to WIN THE ROH WOMEN's WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Rok-C's mother and step-father are in the crowd. Alize came close to winning several times, but Rok-C kept fighting back. Rok-C won after a Code Rok. post match Maria Kanellis presented Rok-C with the ROH Women's World Championship belt, while her family came into the ring to celebrate with her.

8. Bandido (c) beat Brody King, Demonic Flamita and EC3 in a Four-Way Elimination match to retain the ROH World Championship
- while the referee was checking on Brody on the floor, Flamita brought a chair into the ring and hit EC3 so hard across the back it almost created a light breeze. EC3 responded to the mild annoyance by snatching the chair away cracking over Flamita's back, which the referee hear and disqualified him for.
- Flamita convinced Bandido they should be super besties again and work together against Brody, which they did for the most part. they botched a pop-up dive over the top rope when Flamita couldn't get his balance and fell back into the ring, but Bandido smartly covered him for a two count, after which they successfully pulled off the dive. Brody pinned Flamita after an All Seeing Eye to eliminated him
- Bandido pinned Brody with a La Magistral Cradle. post match The Foundation came out to congratulate Bandido, with Jonathan Gresham starring at the ROH World Championship belt. but they weren't the only ones who wanted to applaud Bandido, as The Righteous came out, dressed all in white (not creepy at all)

ROH RETURNS TO LAKELAND FOR DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR PAY-PER-VIEW IN SEPTEMBER!



For the first time in nearly four and a half years, Ring of Honor is holding a live pay-per-view event in Lakeland, Fla.

The best wrestlers on the planet will be in action when Death Before Dishonor comes to RP Funding Center on Sunday, Sept. 12.

History will be made that night, as ROH crowns a new women’s world champion in the Quest for Gold tournament final.

ROH is riding a wave of momentum after presenting its first live pay-per-view with fans in attendance Sunday night at Best in the World, where Bandido shocked the wrestling world by defeating RUSH for the ROH World Title.

Tickets go on sale for HonorClub members on Friday, July 16 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time, and for the general public on Friday, July 23 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.

Tickets will be priced at $50 and $30, plus all applicable fees. During the HonorClub presale members will receive a $10 discount on each ticket purchased.

Death Before Dishonor has been a signature event in ROH since 2003 and has featured several ROH World Title changes. Moreover, the last time ROH held a pay-per-view in Lakeland -- Supercard of Honor in 2017 -- the show was headlined by a bout that was voted Match of the Year.

The show was originally scheduled to take place in Lakeland, Fla., at RP Funding Center, but the recent COVID-19 surge in the state necessitated the change in location.

JOSH WOODS WILL CHALLENGE FOR PURE CHAMPIONSHIP AT DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR



“The Technical Beast” Josh Woods will get his shot at the ROH Pure Title at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

Woods, the No. 1 contender in the Pure division, will face the winner of the Pure Title Match between champion Jonathan Gresham and Rhett Titus, which takes place at Glory By Honor Night 1 in Philadelphia on Aug. 20.

Last year, Woods made it to the Pure Title Tournament semifinals, where he lost to eventual tournament winner Gresham.

In Pure Rules matches, Woods has scored victories over former ROH World Champions Jay Lethal and Dalton Castle.

Woods is coming off a big win over his former mentor, Silas Young, in a Last Man Standing Match at Best in the World last month.

Also taking place at what is guaranteed to be a loaded Death Before Dishonor show is the ROH Women’s Title Tournament championship match.

The competitors in the ROH World Title Match at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 will be made known during the Glory By Honor shows at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena next weekend.

On Night 1 on Aug. 20, ROH World Champion Bandido defends his title against Flip Gordon. The challenger who will face either Bandido at Gordon at Death Before Dishonor will be revealed on Night 2 on Aug. 21 right before the steel cage main event between Matt Taven and Vincent.

Both Glory By Honor shows will be streamed live for HonorClub.

As announced earlier this week, Death Before Dishonor was moved from Lakeland, Fla., to the 2300 Arena due to the recent COVID-19 surge in Florida.

Also at Death Before Dishonor, the finals of the ROH Women’s World Title Tournament will take place, and Josh Woods will challenge for the Pure Title against either Jonathan Gresham or Rhett Titus. Gresham defends the title against fellow Foundation member Titus at Glory By Honor Night 1.

Coming off two nights of incredible action at Glory By Honor, Ring of Honor returns to the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sunday, Sept. 12.

Tickets for the show go on sale for HonorClub members this Friday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. HonorClub members can use the code HCDBD at checkout to receive a 50 percent discount . 

The HonorClub presale ends on Monday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. Eastern, at which time tickets will go on sale for the general public.

INJURY UPDATES ON JONATHAN GRESHAM, FLIP GORDON AND RUSH



ROH Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham, Flip Gordon and RUSH suffered injuries at Glory By Honor Night 2 in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Gresham suffered a fractured cheekbone and eye socket during the eight-man tag match between The Foundation and Violence Unlimited. He is expected to return at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 in Philadelphia to defend his title against Josh Woods.

Flip Gordon is experiencing memory loss after being on the receiving end of a Jay Driller on a chair by Mark Briscoe. A further update on his condition is expected soon.

RUSH suffered a knee injury during the tag match that pitted him and Dragon Lee against Bandido and Rey Horus. The exact nature of the injury is unknown and his recovery time is to be determined.

RUSH and fellow La Faccion Ingobernable members Lee and Kenny King are scheduled to challenge ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Shane Taylor Promotions at Death Before Dishonor.

CAN BANDIDO BEAT THE ODDS AGAIN WHEN HE DEFENDS ROH WORLD TITLE IN FOUR-WAY ELIMINATION MATCH AT DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR?



Bandido entered his match against then-ROH World Champion RUSH at Best in the World as the underdog, but he walked out as the new champion.

The odds will be stacked against Bandido again when he puts his championship on the line against Brody King, EC3 and Demonic Flamita in a four-way elimination match that headlines the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

Speaking of odds, King might be the favorite in this match. Many consider the Violence unlimited behemoth to be the uncrowned champion, as he appeared to be on the verge of defeating RUSH for the title at Final Battle in December before outside interference from RUSH’s La Faccion Ingobernable teammates cost him the match.

In King’s most recent singles match, he scored a convincing victory over two-time former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal on the same night in which Bandido beat RUSH. King also has singles wins over former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle and former ROH World Television Champion Shane Taylor.

EC3 believes that his purpose is to become ROH World Champion. He’s a two-time former TNA World Champion, but he’s a much more dangerous and focused competitor today.

EC3 is a bit of an enigma, as he adheres to the Code of Honor but doesn’t have any friends or allies in ROH. “The Essential Character” is coming off impressive wins over Flip Gordon and Brian Johnson.

The challenger in this match Bandido knows best obviously is Demonic Flamita, his former teammate in MexiSquad. Since turning his back on Bandido and Rey Horus, Demonic Flamita has fully embraced his dark side and it’s working for him.

Demonic Flamita pinned Bandido when they squared off in April, making him the last man to pin Bandido before he won the ROH World Title.

This past weekend at Glory By Honor, Demonic Flamita earned his way into the title rankings by winning a Six-Way Mayhem Match. He also scored a big win over Horus in a no-disqualification match on last weekend’s episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling.

Josh Woods got sidetracked by his feud with former mentor Silas Young over the past several months, but he never lost sight of his ultimate goal.

After defeating Young in a Last Man Standing Match at Best in the World last month, “The Technical Beast” once again is laser-focused on winning the ROH Pure Title.

Woods will get his long-awaited title shot against ROH Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

Gresham suffered a fractured cheekbone and eye socket during an eight-man tag match at Glory By Honor Night 2 on Aug. 21, but he is expected to be ready to compete at Death Before Dishonor.

The last time these two met was in the ROH Pure Tournament semifinals. Gresham beat Woods en route to winning the whole thing.

Since then, Woods has worked his way up to being the No. 1 contender by scoring victories in Pure Rules matches over the likes of former ROH World Champions Jay Lethal and Dalton Castle, as well as his nemesis, Young.

ROH'S RUSH UNDERGOES SURGERY

Ring of Honor superstar RUSH has undergone what has been described locally as "emergency surgery" in Mexico City, Mexico.

His family will hold a press conference on Thursday to address both the surgery and RUSH’s future.

Mexican media outlet Pásala published a photo last night of RUSH being hospitalised. The image showed RUSH being pushed in a wheelchair by his wife, and there is an additional photo of the ambulance which apparently transported him to hospital.

RUSH did appear to suffer a knee injury at the second night of Ring of Honor’s two-day Glory By Honor show on August 21 in the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He teamed with his brother Dragon Lee to defeat Bandido and Rey Horus.

Ring of Honor later confirmed he suffered a knee injury on its website on August 25, writing: “RUSH suffered a knee injury during the tag match that pitted him and Dragon Lee against Bandido and Rey Horus. The exact nature of the injury is unknown and his recovery time is to be determined.”

RUSH was scheduled to compete at Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor show on September 12 in the 2300 Arena, teaming again with Lee as well as La Facción Ingobernable stablemate Kenny King to challenge Kaun, Moses and Shane Taylor for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships, but he has been replaced by his father Bestia del Ring.

ELI ISOM, DALTON CASTLE SQUARE OFF IN GRUDGE MATCH WITH WORLD TV TITLE IMPLICATIONS AT DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR



Eli Isom has been wanting to get his hands on Dalton Castle in a one-on-one match ever since the flamboyant former ROH World Champion kicked him below the belt back in April.

Isom won’t have to wait much longer, as he and the supposedly very busy Castle will square off at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 in Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

The last time Isom and Castle were in the ring together it was for a triple threat match in July that also involved Dak Draper. In that bout, Castle hit Isom in the face with a chair and served him up for Draper, who hit Magnum KO for the win.

This match is about more than settling a personal issue, however; it also has huge implications for the ROH World Television Title rankings.

Castle, who has won his past four one-on-one singles matches, is the No. 1 contender in the division. To retain that spot, he’ll need to beat Isom.

VIOLENCE UNLIMITED TAKES ON PURE WRESTLERS PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE AT DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR



After Violence Unlimited’s Chris Dickinson issued an open challenge to any Pure wrestlers past, present or future to face him, Homicide and Tony Deppen in a six-man tag match, one competitor from each era quickly stepped up.

Former Pure champion John Walters (past), LSG (present) and Lee Moriarty (future) have joined forces to take on VU at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 in Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

Part of VU’s mission since its formation earlier this year has been to prove that the Pure wrestlers are no match for violent competitors such as themselves. Making an example of Walters, LSG and Moriarty is easier said than done, however.

Walters held the Pure Title for 189 days back in 2004-2005, but he’s not a nostalgia act. He made his return to ROH last year in great shape and nearly defeated Pure star Tracy Williams.

LSG, who is relatively new to the Pure division, has quickly climbed the ranking and is currently the No. 2 contender to the Pure Title. Deppen knows firsthand how good LSG is because he was defeated by LSG in a traditional match in February.

Moriarty, one of the most in-demand wrestlers on the independent circuit, will be making his ROH debut. “The Apex of Combat” has received high praise from the likes of Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham and former ROH star Alex Shelley.

SHANE TAYLOR PROMOTIONS PUTS ROH WORLD SIX-MAN TAG TITLE ON LINE AGAINST LA FACCION INGOBERNABLE AT DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR



Even though RUSH will be out of action for the rest of the year after undergoing knee surgery, La Faccion Ingobernable’s mission to rule ROH is still in full effect.

One of the titles LFI has set its sights on is the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship, held by Shane Taylor Promotions (Taylor and Soldiers of Savagery’s Moses and Kaun).

With RUSH sidelined, his father, Bestia del Ring, will step in and team with ROH World Television Champion Dragon Lee and Kenny King to challenge STP at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 in Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

LFI has proven time and again that they will do whatever it takes to win, especially when championships are at stake. They will likely have to pull out all the stops to have a chance of taking the belts from STP.

Taylor, Moses and Kaun have been dominant champion since winning the title nearly seven months ago. They’re undefeated (8-0) in six-man tag team competition, including six title defensese (four in ROH, two oustide of ROH).

For Taylor, however, this match is about more than the six-man tag belts.

Taylor has had a score to settle with LFI -- and specifically with his former friend King -- since February, when King hit Taylor over the head with a chair to cause him to lose his ROH World Title Match against then-champion RUSH.

OGK, BRISCOES RENEW MEMORABLE RIVALRY AT DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR



A memorable rivalry will be renewed when The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) face Jay and Mark Briscoe at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 in Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

This will be the first meeting between two of ROH’s greatest tag teams since 2015. The last time they were in the ring together at the 2300 Arena, Taven, Bennett and Maria Kanellis defeated the Briscoes and ODB in a six-person tag match.

Throughout 2014 and 2015, Taven and Bennett -- then known as The Kingdom -- and the Briscoes battled numerous times and traded victories.

The match at Death Before Dishonor isn’t about nostalgia, though; it’s about climbing the tag team rankings and putting themselves into position for a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

Bennett returned to ROH late last year after a five-year absence and reunited with Taven. Now that Taven’s long, emotional rivalry with Vincent is behind him, The OGK is laser-focused on regaining the ROH World Tag Team Title they held for three months in 2015.

They had an opportunity to do so in May, but they came up short in a hard-fought match against then-champions Tracy Williams and Rhett Titus, thanks in large part to Taven wrestling with an injured ankle that was the result of a pre-match attack by The Righteous.

Since resolving their differences in the Fight on the Farm two months ago, the Briscoes have embarked on a quest to win their 12th ROH World Tag Team Title. They’re 2-0 so far and currently No. 4 in the rankings.

For the first time in more than two years, ROH will present an Honor Rumble, with the winner receiving a future ROH World Title shot.

The battle royal-style match, which begins with two competitors and has the other participants entering the ring at timed intervals, will take place during Hour One of the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 12 in Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

Death Before Dishonor Hour One airs for free on multiple platforms, including HonorClub and ROH’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern.

Danhausen will be among the competitors in the Honor Rumble, and I’m hearing there may be a surprise entrant or two.

Next week’s episode of ROH Week By Week on YouTube features a classic match from Death Before Dishonor in June 2005 between CM Punk and then-ROH World Champion Austin Aries. This is the match that kicked off the original Summer of Punk.
