I mean. Let’s not forget how well Diesel’s reign went. That’s not the comparison Cage wants in a red hot company.
Legit, the last two people Cage should be compared with is a one in an industry talent (Lesnar) and a dude who has been eclipsing him on the mic (Starks).
He should be compared to the guys in the same position as him. Wardlow, Archer, Hobbs, and Hager. Not Miro though, he’s on fire right now.
Cage is clearly head and shoulders above Hager. I don’t argue that he should have been tagging with Hobbs. But Archer is a great comparison.

I am a fan of Cage. He impressed me in PWG, and his time in LU was a lot of fun to watch. I was hoping he could find a place in AEW, but now, like many have already said with the addition of bigger names to the roster, he more than likely will get lost in the shuffle.
I hope his redemption arc post-Team Taz can find some momentum., but as the weeks pass and bigger stories develop, it does not look promising.
As odd as it may be, adding him to the Best Friends would be a nice call back with Chuck, and I believe his interactions with Orange would be pretty funny.

I mean he’s not being used at the top and he wants to be a top guy so who are we to say he shouldn’t be upset at his use? There are guys in the E that are world champions that still aren’t happy with their use so naturally that’s going to happen in AEW too eventually.

I think it's unfair to compare anyone in Lucha Underground to them in a different company, even one that books pretty darn well like AEW. The first two seasons of Lucha Underground are as near perfection as you're ever going to see in wrestling. I was hyped for an Ezekiel Jackson return and match. Whatever those writers were doing it was somehow magic.

All I know is I want to see Cage vs Cage in a Cage. Brian Cage vs Ethan Page vs Christan Cage vs Hangman Page, in a cage. Special Enforcer Diamond Dallas Page. JR on commentary lol.

Trying to force your employers hand like that is not a wise move, particularly when there is no empirical evidence you can point to about why you should be headlining the card other than "I'm a big guy who can do flippy shit". That and $0.50 will get you a ham sandwich in AEW. This is absolutely something he should have kept in house.

so I’ve seen a lot of discussion lately about AEW having too big of a roster and cage should leave and sign wwe here’s the thing though? what is wwe gonna do with cage that AEW isn’t WWE also has a big roster and people complain all the time about not being used yet for some teason people think cage is gonna make a difference there? i just don’t get it. this isn’t me trying to be anti-wwe or have wwe vs aew though i know it might seem that way but these two companies have the same problem yet people seem to be ok with one company having a lot of talent and not the other

Cage is being treated as a strong upper card guy who could potentially have a (probably brief and transitional) championship run at some point. That's probably the best he could hope for anywhere else, and he's likely being paid more in AEW than he would be in Impact or NXT. If holding the top championship is so important to him, sure plenty of Indies would love to have his support, but I don't think any first or second tier company is going to want to build around him, so what is he hoping to achieve here?

I think the bigger issue here is that Brian Cage really sucks. I think he should just start the WBF back up and go with that.

I can see that being something he gets to do more of in WWE if he’s being featured there. I think he has like 4 matches on TV in the last 4 months.

Which company do you think is going to make him their top guy, or otherwise treat him better than AEW has? Remember that Kross spent a looooonnnnnggggg time publicly bashing Impact because they wouldn't let him out of his contract to go to WWE. How did that work out for him?

Needs more Splatoon Ink. But to actually add to the thread, if being the top guy means that much to him, he can totally go the Nick Aldis route. I'm sure MLW or some fed will give him that, especially now.

He was pushed to the moon in NXT, and is now featured every week on Raw? Albeit it in a silly entrance getup. Like I said Cage has wrestled 4 times on TV in 4 months. Maybe some guys want to be used more than that and he thinks he can do better elsewhere. Doesn’t mean he’s right but it’s possible.

We don't know what's happened in-house, what he's requested or pitched, if his requests have been ignored, etc. Also, who exactly does it benefit besides the company if talent have to keep their grievances private?

Yeah, I agree. If he has done all that and is putting his hand out there, more power to him. Similarly to KO in WWE. That’s about where that comparison ends for me though.

Seems like he's getting to work Cage's facial expression in the thumbnail looks like he's doing his own version of Karl Anderson's "Sour Boy".
