have to say after watching the tag match, I'm all aboard pushing Gates of Agony to the moon. KAUN has a money look Don't know why he hasn't gotten more time Agreed. And PLEASE put the belt on Swerve. I will go full on Matt Striker "I'm marking out bro!" mode. I hate that I have to wait until after work to see the show.

They’ve got to keep Swerve happy because WWE would rehire him in a heartbeat. Starks too as he’s a close friend of Cody’s. Keith might be out of luck as I think they’re still pissed at him for that post release tweet about their healthcare policies.

I just don’t get it with Scorpio, nothing about him has ever screamed main event. Ricky, Swerve, Lee? Hell yeah. But Scorpio is not on that level. He's distinctly top midcard (best as a face) for me, so a modern day Tito Santana equivalent.

WWE would almost certainly rehire Swerve, but Swerve has said he has zero desire to go back to WWE so that’s ultimately a wash. Agreed about Starks though, he’s a dude they really can’t afford to drop the ball with.

Not Vince WWE either, HHH chose Top Dolla over Swerve Swerve has no desire to go back to WWE and seems very creatively content in AEW, of course winning this title would only elevate that, but WWE burned him pretty badly.

Swerve has talked openly and candidly about not being in among "Triple H's guys" during his NXT run. He was there, he was prominent, but he's said that he never really felt the support from Triple H that other guys did.

Wasn’t Swerve in AEW when HHH was in control? Yeah I thought that while he wasn't one of Hunter's guys in NXT, Hunter still liked him. It was when Hit Row got called up that Vince said Top Dolla was the star and had Swerve be the guy that carried him in the tag team.

Swerve spoke about this on Renee's podcast. He said there he never felt like one of Triple H's guys and even spoke to Trips about it.
I recommend listening to the podcast for the most accurate view of everything. Or at least, Swerve's view of it.

I guess I don’t understand how he chose him over him then.

It's been awhile since I listened to Swerve talking about his experience in the WWE system. I forget if he was really complimentary to Shawn Michaels believing in him or if he was also someone that overlooked him like Trips.

I always thought it was kinda cap or Swerve was a little in his bag. He may not have been a HHH but HHH was also giving him his whole vision with Hit Row and he was getting positioned for a big push before Vince wanted them and then they cut B-Fab putting wiring on the wall for them

Yeah Swerve may not have been Triple H’s guy, but he was certainly positioned way above Top Dolla in NXT when H was in charge. It’s conflating two different stories by saying both Vince and Triple H wanted Top Dolla over Swerve.

KAUN has a money look Don't know why he hasn't gotten more time He main evented a Rampage vs Dustin and it was a good match, Dustin gave him a lot, even bled for him I've thought Strickland is a star-in-waiting for a minute, but what you highlighted doesn't exactly show Tony is serious about pushing him to the next level. I actually watched parts of that Rampage and saw the Swerve-Dustin match. Swerve lost by DQ when Dustin had him pinned and his partner pulled him out the ring. Then Keith Lee comes to the ring and disposes of both Swerve and the other guy. If you're serious about pushing the dude why have him take a DQ loss (that was to prevent a pin fall loss) to a guy who's on the high side of 50?

That's not who I was talking about in this comment, I was talking about Dustin's match with Bishop Kaun, that's the match that was had with Dustin. Swerve wasn't the example here That segment with Swerve was before the Mogul Embassy refresh, which has done wonders for him and the Embassy, Trench and Parker just didn't work
