Demaryius Thomas' former teammates Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow shared their thoughts today about how good and kind a person he was. Both sounded like they were on the verge of tears, too.

Could be one and done ? Hell he lucky if a players doesn’t lose it with him and there’s a physical altercation. I can’t remember are NFL ahead coaches contracts fully guaranteed for acting like a colossal dickhead ?

Wouldn't surprise me to see Urban be one and done, with all the drama he's been in and also the team still sucks. They can't afford to waste Trevor Lawrence's career, so they need to find "his coach" early, the one who will mold Trevor into a winning pro and then they win together. I hope they go for an OC, even better one with experience as a QB coach. (Just in case the Urban Meyer experience doesn't work out for them.)

This weeks game didn't exactly help matters either. They are actively breaking Lawrence in a way that'd make Darnold and his ghosts blush.

Gotta love Nick Bosa tearing his ACL and coming back an even stronger, faster, and more explosive sack artist. Dude’s dominant even through constant holdings (Sup Chiefs, you wrote the script) and double teams.
He has an outside shot at Aldon Smith’s single season record for the Niners, needing 5.5 over the last 4 games. Definitely possible the way he’s been playing lately.
I’ve been pretty damn miserable this season because of the QB issues, and I haven’t appreciated this guy enough.

This weeks game didn't exactly help matters either. They are actively breaking Lawrence in a way that'd make Darnold and his ghosts blush. Meyer also seems to be actively going out of his way to ruin a potential stud running back in James Robinson. Robinson broke onto the scene in 2020 as an undrafted rookie free agent, recording 1,070 yards and 7 touchdowns on 4.5 YPC in 14 games. Entering his age-23 season, with a real quarterback in Trevor Lawrence under center, Robinson seemed primed for a breakout 2021 that would put him in the elite class of running backs. Then Urban Meyer was hired. The Jaguars used a first-round pick on Clemson running back Travis Etienne, but Etienne was lost for the season during a preseason game. In week one, Robinson gets five carries to veteran retread (and Ohio State alum) Carlos Hyde's nine. Robinson's talent eventually forced the issue, but after a fumble last week against the Rams, Meyer benched Robinson and, according to NFL.com, had running backs coach Bernie Parmalee stop Robinson from re-entering the game. Robinson only returned after Lawrence reportedly asked Meyer about Robinson's status. And then this week, amid all that controversy, Robinson gets six carries in the Jaguars' shutout loss to the Titans. Robinson has actually exceeded his YPC from last year (4.8 to 4.5) and matched his rushing touchdown total, but since the calendar turned to November, he's been limited to an average of 11 carries per game.

Or....he's keeping him healthy so that someone can offer a nice trade package for a nice, fresh, only slightly-used James Robinson. I mean, he's not thinking like that. He's not demonstrated anything close to that much awareness. It just might be what happens and it will be the best thing for Robinson when it does happen.

BTW, I love how the Colts managed to jump from #10 in the AFC to #6 during the one week of the season that they actually did not play a down.

There's no way that's his thinking, because there's no way Urban Meyer gets a second season in Jacksonville. The question is whether he'll be fired or resign.

There's no way that's his thinking, because there's no way Urban Meyer gets a second season in Jacksonville. The question is whether he'll be fired or resign. Oh, I know. I said as much myself. He has bungled this so badly in such a colossal fashion that I have to wonder exactly how he was ever successful as a coach. I can only assume that he can only be a leader when he's allowed to be an utter tyrant who no one is allowed to question. Place him in a real professional setting with other professionals who expect to be treated like professionals and he comes unglued. The real question is whether Shad Khan will have any patience with him or not. One and done coaches is generally a rare thing and definitely not the sign of a stable franchise who can recruit choice candidates. It *might* be better long-term to give him a second season, hire an assistant coach you want to have as an interim coach, and be prepared to fire Meyer midseason.

Urban's going to have "heart issues" in a few weeks... Yeah, about every alarm in my head is saying he's going to "step down" because of migraines or family stress or whatever excuse it was the last time.

Well, 13% of the Rams team tested positive for Covid today. Neat.
Edit: Apparently the Browns have that beat by putting 8 on Covid reserve today. Their entire practice squad has a chance to suit up in their next game with those kind of numbers. Plus, that's got to just be the start of the fun.
Edit #2: Holy crap! Looking into it there are 7 teams that are in enhanced Covid protocols! Amazingly, despite how cavalier the players were being to start preseason, the Colts are not one of those teams and have managed to get a lot of those who were reluctant to get vaccinated after all.
Edit #3: Sources are saying 75 players tested positive since yesterday. We’re talking something like 4% of the entire league’s collective active rosters. I think this is gonna be an issue,
