both 2 games clear 3-4-5 anyways One wonders who they would use to replace "Certain Historical Villain" in a remake of 2. (Was he already replaced in the PSP versions?)

There's a lot of evidence that Yosuke was originally intended to be gay or bi with a lot of his earlier dialogue meant to represent his internalized homophobia. There's even code to suggest he was planned as a romance option for Yu (which would also make Yu the first LGBTQ+ protagonist of the series as P4 came out before P3P). Unfortunately, Hashino is pretty freakin' homophobic so he put a stop to it, and Yosuke just became an asshole instead. If that's the case, that's pretty wild. It'd also explain some of the weird choices in wanting to address it properly and treating it like a gay panic thing. Yeah, there's a Yosuke romance mod for the PC version of P4G and the dialogue is pulled mostly from stuff already in the game's code. I guess it was just easier for Atlus to leave it in there and never use it than to remove it and potentially screw something up completely unrelated to the situation.

Persona 2 should follow in Wolfenstein's example and let you pump giant mecha Hitler full of lead.

Hey, if that rumor about how Sega intends to put out new Sonic, Like a Dragon, and Persona games every year from now on they might end up having to do that eventually just out of sheer desperation to continue pumping content out.

So I'll mention it here since the brand was kind of built through Persona but in case anyone missed it, Midori kind of utterly imploded the past couple of weeks. Suddenly started leaking things about tons of non-Sega companies, information got both a lot less specific and a lot more just kind of generally useless (lot of, "Nintendo is working on a game with the codename '______', kind of stuff), leaks were suddenly being proven wrong at a rapid rate, she claimed to be retiring just to keep leaking multiple times, and now turned out that the entire time Midori was actually a cover for some other leaker named MysticDistance who was cultivating a fake personality as a Japanese woman for some reason. And from some digging people've largely sleuthed out where the initially correct information came from, where the info being provided now is coming from, and that most stuff Midori's said lately has had no apparent basis.
So... Yeah, maybe take the leaked Persona 6 info with a grain of salt.

You know, when people say social media is bad, they don’t take into consideration that it’s the only place in the world something as wacky as this would happen and honestly, god bless it. But also, yeah, let’s wait for more info before confirming anything he said.

Yeah, pretty happy with Persona 4 Golden overall even with Yosuke’s existence.
I think I prefer 5 overall in terms of how combat is designed but Marie is fighting for my heart with Makoto and Yuko. Yes, the sports coach from Persona 3. I picked her over the actual playable characters. Siiigh. ❤️

Makoto is my waifu in P5, but I also really liked Hifumi from the NPC options.
I'd like Yoshizawa more if the game didn't cram half of her social link stuff into the third semester part of P5R. At least Marie you could do throughout the regular game in P4G.

Yeah, I don’t think I’ve been ever to complete her social link fully in any of my playthroughs which is annoying because it’s a nice old link. I will also say, the thing I love about P5R is that there is more motivation to do enough with social links on a NG+ because you can do enough to get the reward you earned and focus on other stuff along with each of them having benefits outside of Persona ones. I enjoyed the links in 4 but it somewhat feels hollow when you aren’t able to make the Personas they reward you with outside of the playable characters.

I've been playing P3 Reload recently and I don't know if it's what they've done with the remake or it's just my own mental space, but I'm enjoying it a lot more than when I tried to replay P3 last year. I've never played P1 or P2 so I'd also prefer remakes over those than a remake of P4. Hopefully P6 builds on P5R because that is, IMO, the best in the series. I think it's s difficult series to go backwards in because of all the qol improvements. I started with p3p and even then tartarus was a slog but the rest of it was all novel to me so I enjoyed it. I don't think I would if I started there now, or even went back to it. P4 golden is still good but that's largely due to it having my favourite cast, again not sure I'd feel the same if I played p5 first. I tried whichever p2 was on psp and couldn't get into it. I'd expect p6 to continue the tradition.

I will say, before playing Reload, I remembered I had Persona 3 FES on my PS3 and played at least 5 hours of that before basically having no access to it (it’s at my parents place and I don’t quite have the room where I live to play it) and I had no real grand issues with it.
I am tempted, actually, to go back to it and compare and contrast but considering I finished 4, I sort of just want to play more Persona or more Persona-likes, really.

Tartarus grinding can get really monotonous in the original P3. At least they addressed this in later games as P4 has more visual and music variety in its TV world dungeons. And P5 has the handcrafted palaces along with the procedurally generated levels of Mementos.
The other part of the original P3 I don't like is mandatory AI control of your other party members. At least P3P and Reload added options for manual control.

At least P3P and Reload added options for manual control. No manual control caused me to drop the game altogether. I've heard the argument that it's better because it makes the game harder, but I never felt it did. P3 onwards are all fairly easy anyway, an even if it did make it harder at times, it was only because the AI occasionally threw away all logic. To me, all it meant was more time spent not making decisions.
