Real interesting that Faye of all people is promoting the show. Real interesting, kinda like Darius Lockhart. And Avery Good before him. It’s never for no reason.

Hey, what's with the tennis racket in the thread title? Grand Slams are typically associated with baseball if we're talking sports. Anyhow, I'm just messing with you. So looking forward to the TV special. Here's hoping AEW knocks it out of the park. It's in a tennis stadium that's one of the sites of the US Open, one of the "Grand Slam" tournaments of pro tennis along with Wimbledon, the French Open, and the Australian Open.
Stephen Amell is in NYC. Wonder if he's going to both shows. If he gets involved, will it be to help out Cody? Or Punk?

So pumped for this show. I still can't believe we're getting Danielson vs. Omega tonight, and they could easily get away with it being a one-match show, but the whole card is incredible for free TV.

I don't watch AEW. It seems like they do these faux PPV-type "special edition" episodes of Dynamite like every other week. Is that the case? Nope.

I'm really loving these AEW show names. Grand Slam, All Out, All In, Dynamite, Rampage, just feels like wrestling game ppv names which is perfect for what the company represents.

At about 16k, it already was the highest non-WWE show in over two decades. 20k? At Arthur Ashe? That’s just crazy. So psyched for tonight.

Tour has had a number of named smaller supercard-esque shows, but not to this level. This is more on par with "Dynamite: Winter is Coming", which is their big December TV episode. with them getting a handful of TNT specials after the move to TBS in January, I fully anticipate Arthur Ashe and Grand Slam to be one of them.

Is that the case? after travel resumed they did like 2 big shows in a short spam + the homecoming which whas just a cute/gimmicky way to say they are going back to Jacksonville. But the PPV-like shows, are around each 2/3 months. This one is on a much larges scale than the one last month

Honestly, I don't watch wrestling much for the actual match (well in terms of working anyway), and tend to view it as secondary to my enjoyment of the product. I usually don't look at a card excited to see the working of a match.
Tonight is the exception. I cannot wait to see Omega/Danielson.

I'm freaking hype to see Danielson wrestle again..... can anybody shed some light on what the flip compelled them to run this venue?

So Stephen Amell is definitely going to Grand Slam tonight at least.

And I'll be stunned if it doesn't sell out in the coming hours.

Really looking forward to this show, I won't be watching live in the UK but will make time to watch first thing tomorrow morning. Last time I made that effort for a wrestling TV show I think was the Raw after Wrestlemania 30.

Because it'd look awesome. And hadn't been done. Thanks for the response.... kudos to them for going outside the box. I think Khan told the story that he was looking for outdoor venues (or retractable roof, since Arthur Ashe has one of those) and stumbled on this location. Basically just asked them “has anybody run wrestling here?” and got told no, so it was an easy pick given the lack of conflicts (US Open is over, Mets are out of town).
