They should have stuck with Rex Steiner. Bron Breaker sounds like a name that were planning to use for Strowman's finisher. I have not heard such a cringeworthy ringname since the Viking Experience.

Here’s the thing. They were all set to call him “Rex Steiner”. That’s not any more or less trademarkable than Bron Breakker is. He’d changed all his socials to that. Then just before he’s about to debut, they change it. I still think the theory is that Triple H pulled rank because of the residual heat he has with Scott Steiner because of Scott running his mouth about Triple H AND Stephanie, which would also bring Vince into it because I’m not sure he’d appreciate someone calling his daughter a useless c***. It’s not anything they’re going to hold against Bronson Rechsteiner. After all, they still hired the kid and are set to make him a big part of NXT going forward. But it’s one of the only logical reasons I can think of why they changed it. |

They’re still giving him a big push. But then again, they’re always a bit weird with family names. After all, for all they love the Anoa’i and Fatu families, it’s not “Roman Anoa’i” and “Jimmy Fatu” and “Jey Fatu” that are the top acts on SmackDown, is it? |

Strong, Fish, Nakamura, Gargano etc... Also if you listen to his talk is Jericho he seems pretty adamant that he's Adam Cole and he's not changing his look. |

It's no Von Wagner, that's for sure.
I just appreciate how so many of the new names that come out of NXT just sound like premium clothing brands. "Tonight I'm wearing my $500 Von Wagner button up, with a $800 Bron Breakker on top, on account of it being a little chilly tonight.

That name can catch fire on social media and it would help him go mainstream with the right conditions. A name like that is waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than The Viking Experience.

Finding it funny how the excuse for calling him Brawn Beaker is that they don't want to associate the company with Scott Steiner. Like, was those the only 2 options? Couldn't call him 'Tony Cage' or something? Nope, Scott was rude about Stephanie so we have no choice but to call you Brown Baker, sorry.

Even if he was given a normal name, it would still be stupid because everyone can see he's a Steiner. They themselves aren't trying to hide it but they're choosing this odd middle ground that serves no master well. And it's not like he's the son of a lower card guy from the 90s. The Steiner's were huge for the better part of two decades. I'm 28 and remember Scott from WWE and TNA. Fans in their 30s remember them from the Monday Night Wars. Fans in their 40s remember them from the NWA. People know the family and will gravitate more towards him if they just fully embraced it. For whatever they think about Scott, I wouldn't put that ahead of this guy's marketability.

My brother was passing by the TV while I was watching NXT and he saw Bron Breakker. The first thing he said was "Is that a Steiner?" I said yes, and explained to him who he was. My brother doesn't watch wrestling anymore but did back in the day. So, yeah, they should have kept his name.
