I would be stunned if there was no greenlight down the line, it's just a given after this Adult Swim's April Fools is their WrestleMania, it's the move coveted night of their year. It's where they air stuff they want to be seen and want to showcase, and Pibby was THE star tonight. It's also trending #5 on Twitter, I think it's a matter of time...
Here are some of my favorite Pibby moments from tonight! Lol

It's all over HBO Max now, and it never was before this
I'd be stunned if this wasn't greenlit, when they do stuff with HBO Max like this it's usually really good news, it was for Smiling Friends

I feel like if I wasn’t already buying it was going to be something in the future, this would have sealed it.

Like, it probably won't be anywhere like this but on the other hand...it'd fit with everything that's happened before. And we're already in uncharted territory with this thing already.

Nope. Not creepy. Not at all... More than likely, if and when the series is officially announced, this would be the end credits theme song And it's very appropriate if it is

So I saw this floating around online and wasn’t sure if it was legit or not so didn’t post it. But since enough places seem to be posting it, seems only right to now. This was spotted by someone on an Atlanta billboard (which I believe is the one next to the Turner offices but I could be wrong).

Both Atlanta and LA Billboards that Adult Swim uses for their stuff are Pibby related I imagine this is a good sign, all we're waiting for is an official confirmation now, because they'd be doing an awful lot with this property if they haven't greenlit it yet...

Kind of wished they had done this with Tuca and Bertie. The Glitch vs The Moss.

I was thinking...
Do you think, once things are officially confirmed greenlit, there should be an "Episode 0" of this?
Like, just one normal Pibby episode of her children's show just to show what her life is like before all this happens.
Opinions?

I want them to troll us by doing about 26 of those things all with the promise each episode is the one where it all kicks off and it never does. Pibby is pure. I don't want anything to happen to her.

I think there's been so much speculation about what the show could be or the form it'll come in that this feels almost like uncharted territory. Basically, the way it was formatted for April Fool's could reasonably be the format for the show where "episodes" are actually re-animated episodes of shows where the darkness creeps in and the characters realize what's going on. The Roundtable did a really interesting video afterwards where the idea was that Pibby was asking for help and being aware of the audience watching because she comes from the world where that's the norm. For as how self-aware Rick and Morty is as a show, none of the characters have awareness of the fourth wall (outside of, occasionally, Mr Poopybutthole) so when Morty got taken over briefly by the darkness, Rick didn't notice and it was only briefly because of the other layer was. You could almost argue that it had already taken over but nobody's quite aware yet (which, as an aside, you could look really deeply at the first trailer and see why Fred saw it and tried to avoid it because HB characters at the time were aware of the forth wall so knew the audience was watching but that also really might be me reading too much into that). Going into your question...a lot of it depends on what the show looks like and what the setup to the series would be (especially since we basically had two origin stories in the space of six months) but...maybe? Like, we could have an episode where Pibby is remembering the old times and we cut right into an Episode one where Pibby is in Joe Pera world trying to find Bun Bun or managed to go somewhere else. Like, all of this going on feels like we're not going to be expecting something that's just "Here's Bushworld Adventures and now here's the creators of that doing their own show" like other stuff has been.

Like, all of this going on feels like we're not going to be expecting something that's just "Here's Bushworld Adventures and now here's the creators of that doing their own show" like other stuff has been. I think they're gonna go similar to the concept trailer where I think it might start normal and then invade Pibby's world, and take Bun Bun. Maybe she starts going through worlds looking for him, looking for help, trying to understand what's going on, even trying to understand how other worlds even exist outside of her own, while things get darker, and she has to try and survive with her new friends as well, as they try and combat, and survive what is becoming a almost zombie like apocalypse of cartoon characters battling one another and trying to win against a very unpredictable and unknown enemy See when people do their hot takes about how "Pibby looks like such a generic concept" or they think it's just "Every Creepypasta ever" I roll my eyes pretty hard, there's A LOT you can do with this series, and many franchises and characters, which is something the FNF Mods even showed you could potentially do as well. There's a lot you can do with this series and it's characters, and the main Pibby ones as well, and not in a stupid "Space Jam 2" way, in actual creative ways that could be fun for a ton of IPs and a whole new story itself, and I definitely wanna see what Dodge and his crew could do... and given what we're seeing? I assume we're definitely gonna.

I feel like looking back on that first trailer, it was surreal how much they got away with. Like, if we were talking about just generic characters or a public domain character, sure, we could just say that it's just something you could do a season of a show, Dodge would get some experience with a team and go off and do something else in that style for Adult Swim and, not that we wouldn't think much of it, that would be it.
Like, I don't know how deals would work or how comfortable management are with it but I feel like how we're here with it and how much promotion it's gotten, like you said, this feels like something that has something that's caught on in a way just being fine with Robot Chicken spoofs or whatever doesn't really capture.
We could be going into 2023 being like "Man, that was a bummer" but the journey we could take to get there seems to at least be way more intriguing.

As someone who listens to alot of podcasts involving cartoons it seems the Turner/Warner Bros use levels are OG CN and Adult Swim licenses are like fair use in any show, lower level Hanna Barbara IP is in the same field of who cares unless its super extreme. Scooby doo, Flintstones and Jetsons are easy to get but have more restrictions. Looney Tunes is above that and DC super heroes need a whole other level of approval to use.

Considering the superhero characters were the only Turner/Warner characters that were pastiches in the original short, that makes entire sense.
