I'm watching old Survivor Series and was reminded of an all time classic angle from the wonderful time of 2004 Smackdown. Shortly after Carlito shockingly won the US title in his debut from Cena, it was announced that Big Match John was visiting a nightclub and while he was partying it up he got stabbed.  It was then revealed that Carlito paid Jesus to do the hit, for reasons.  And then it culminated in John Cena defeating Jesus at Armageddon.  |

I mentioned in the New Jack thread how a friend had heard rumors that New Jack was considered for the Cena stabber spot. I dont know much about the rumors but he was excited about the possibility.

Yeah that one made the rounds at the time. New Jack did have a tryout match at some point, can't remember if it matched up. It was nonsense, and in retrospect pretty bloody racist, but it was definitely a theory. |

I remember that angle well because I was in the crowd when Carlito beat Cena in Boston for the title. I was 11 at the time and it was really the first significant angle I'd seen in person. Had really good seats too.

When I heard that rumor all I could picture was New Jack working a match with JBL or BobbHolly, who were notorious for stuffing people. What kind of disaster would we have gotten, possibly on live tv? |
