Saw it, not a big fan of it, especially one thing that happened that was so out of character that the writers should have known better.

Popping in to say everyone should watch Yellowjackets on the same network. So good it kept me from canceling my Showtime subscription after American Rust turned out to be a wet fart. I didn't hear about this until this thread, but it sounds awesome. As for Dexter, it was a good series, but I didn't like the ending. I'm guessing they're gonna do a Harrison series, but I just don't care enough about him as a character. I didn't dislike him, he was interesting enough but the interesting part was his dynamic with Dexter. A Dexter & Harrison series on the run across America would have been good. A Harrison on his own, not so much.

Well, since I started this thread, I may as well give my thoughts on it. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I know everybody's losing their minds over the finale on the internet saying it's worse than Season 8, but I don't think that's the case. New Blood is a victim of not pacing its story well. If I was to have run the show, I would have probably settled up the Kurt Caldwell story by episode 5 or 6 similar to how it unfolded in episode 9. The last few episodes are spent with Dexter trying to teach Harrison the code while not realizing that Angela's building a case against him on the side. Maybe Dexter and Harrison go on a road trip where Dexter teaches him about the code and Dexter helps him through his first few kills while failing to realize what he's doing is essentially traumatizing his son. Meanwhile, in these other episodes, we also cut back to Iron Lake where Angela's learning more about the Butcher case and we finally get appearances by guys like Quinn and Batista to help her fill in some of the gaps.
Christmas Day, Dexter returns to Iron Lake with Harrison thinking he'll have a regular Christmas with Angela but in reality, he gets arrested for the murder of Matt from episode 1 and is suspected in the disappearance of Kurt. Angela then drops the BHB bomb on him and tells him that Batista and Quinn will be there in the morning. Dexter manages to escape prison overnight without murdering anybody and gets Harrison to meet him in the same place. We get the same confrontation but it's also Dexter realizing that Harrison's "born in blood" moment was the whole Kurt Caldwell murder and their subsequent road trip. Harrison leaves town, we're not totally sure if he's a budding serial killer or if he just needed to get rid of his dad. Batista, Quinn and Angela discover Dexter's body in the AM. The end.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} People saying it was worse that Season 8 is indicative I think of how people react these days. Everything is the worst thing ever
I will admit I was slightly disappointed by the finale. At first I thought it was going well up to the arrest and then Chief just went off the deep end. Like if she thought Dexter had killed her friend and all those missing women fair enough but damn you think she’d show some professionalism
And Dexter going for the jailbreak. I mean his story was plausible enough and he definitely had some wiggle room in terms of the evidence against him so he really could have played the smart game
I enjoyed the series for the most part however. Still think Dexter going on trial, being convicted, executed and the last thing he saw was all his victims watching him die would have been better but the ending we got was better then season 8 at least
Also I hope Batista didn’t spend too much money on a plane ticket

it was inevitable for harrison to have it out with his dad, said that right at the beginning, and thought it was the perfect ending for dexter fits perfectly in with the rest of the franchise ... even if it has ended totally!

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Dexter killing Logan to escape the prison was completely inconsistent with the character. He never killed innocent people. He was even going to let Doakes go in season 2. They had Dexter kill an innocent man with no build up as far as his character is concerned, and it came off like a way to get the fans to sympathize with Harrison at the end rather than give Dexter's character the proper closure.
This show needed to end with Dexter in jail/death penalty or killed. So I don't mind that aspect of the ending, but how they got there was worse than season 8's ending, and I don't think that's hyperbole. Season 8's ending was a cope out to avoid a real ending. This was a real ending that did not fit the character or give him the proper send off before his death.

Granted he didn’t get to but he was about to if I recall correctly
I do kinda agree it doesn’t really fit what the general character should be but it’s not out of character with what they’ve done before
