Turning Sting into a heel against Hogan at Fall Brawl 99, crowd cheered and didn't care one bit that he cheated. A month or so later, Sting is back as the lovable babyface. On similar note, the surprise that not even VINCE MCMAHON HIMSELF COULD STOP, BRO! We're turning one of our most beloved Babyfaces, Heel and we're gonna do it by him refusing to LOSE in the ring, bro... and then we sell teh story of him being unwilling to follow the script, bro... the most dastardly thing you cna do in wrestling bro... it'll be genius! It won't leave everyone confused... and go over like a fart in church... and Vince McMahon likely didn't give a shit because it was us being complete idiots.... but... bro... what you don't understand is standards and practices...

Now you would think that after slamming Big Show out of the ring in the first ever Andre the Giant memorial battle royal that that would, maybe probably, be the start of a big push for Cesaro right, nah, let's just have him come out the next night and say he's a Paul Heyman guy now.

Which led to Heyman not caring about him and the WWE then dropping all the things that got people behind him... including the Swing which was referenced in his entrance, his nickname, his merchandise... etc... yeah he got it back eventually but like they started calling him the King of Swing, and then TOOK AWAY THE SWING for like a year... what the hell is that?

I loved 2006 DX. They were giant dorks. Yeah, they were dorks and for the most part they did kinda lean into the we're too old for this on a few occasions. It would be different if it was more of a wink and a nod self aware parody. Hell, that could actually be hilarious.

Kurt Angle suddenly becoming an super Anti-American heel as part of the WWE's "WOULD YOU PLEASE CHEER FOR JOHN CENA DAMMIT?!" push.
Although I loved Kurt paroding it at New Year's Revolution 2006 by saying the craziest statements in his interview because "No matter what I say these people will cheer me."

I just remember one Rumble where Cena and Orton are having a staredown and people are having none of it because they never gave a shit about that rivalry before Randy Orton and John Cena were for WWE what the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals were for the NHL; this super forced "rivalry" that the fans never bought into as both already had more interesting organic rivalries with other people.

Yeah, we can shit on WWF/E all day long for not gelling with their fanbase but WCW was guilty of it to, especially with Hogan.

Nah I actually really enjoyed this match. It wasn't the greatest match ever but they did what they could to make it that. Loved the presentation of it all too personally.

I feel the Wrestlemania 35 main event could count. Well the fact that a women’s match was maineventing Wrestlemania was awesome the crowd was beyond dead by that point. Add in the weirdness of the botched finish and it made what should have been an awesome moment just feel forced and not real. I was there, and am still very much alive!! 🤣

Complete with revisionist video package explaining that Sting becoming the Crow was him embracing his evil side. didn't help that WCW fans never liked babyface Hogan to begin with. Had they turned DDP face and went with his people's champion thing he had, and Sting turned on him, Sting would have gotten heat. Pushed Rey Mysterio and Sting attacked him with a bat, Sting would have gotten heat. Hell, Sting blasting Luger with the bat, after Luger despite being a heel not going after Sting? That would have gotten Sting heat. Fans weren't gonna boo Sting blasting a guy who spent years trying to destroy the company.

Inoki putting the IWGP Title on career undercarder Tadao Yasuda because he managed to tap out Jerome Le Banner in a MMA match. It would be akin to Gangrel in 2000 winning a fight in the UFC and then getting the WWF Title in a tournament over The Rock and Triple H. Yeah, it was terrible. I feel like there's a lot of stuff in late Inoki-era NJPW that can be rationalized or excused. Like, I can absolutely see why he'd roll the dice on Brock, even if that was ultimately a mistake. I can see why incorporating aspects of MMA into the show made some level of sense. This, though, was one of the worst booking decisions in Inoki's history, and he had plenty to choose from.

In the span of 90 seconds Kurt said he wished America would lose the Iraq War, the best country in the world was France, that he wasn't a big fan of "the black people" and if he could he'd go back in time and make Jesus tap out and still got cheered by the end of the promo. Masterclass mode

Kurt flat out says it in the promo. Of course the best part was after Kurt said he'd make Jesus tap Diavari says "Who'd he ever beat?"

Rey's whole title push after Eddie's death is up there. For being his BBFF in real life, Eddie sure liked talking about him a total of...zero times.
