Rey's whole title push after Eddie's death is up there. For being his BBFF in real life, Eddie sure liked talking about him a total of...zero times. Eddie basically spent the last year of his life putting over Rey as a main eventer. Okay but suddenly being his guardian angel when they hated eachother is the forced part.

This, and this...
...have always given me a total "I just pooped my pants" vibe, as opposed to whatever emotions they're attempting to convey.

In the span of 90 seconds Kurt said he wished America would lose the Iraq War, the best country in the world was France, that he wasn't a big fan of "the black people" and if he could he'd go back in time and make Jesus tap out and still got cheered by the end of the promo. Masterclass mode And I remember at the time people somehow missed that Kurt was saying this outrageous stuff to kinda prove that he could say anything and people would cheer him. I mean... Kurt flat out says it in the promo. Of course the best part was after Kurt said he'd make Jesus tap Diavari says "Who'd he ever beat?" The only thing he ever did was stab John Cena in a nightclub.

The Raw when Jerry Lawler tried to get everyone to do the Fandango dance. This is the worst one for me. They seemed completely oblivious to the fact that fans did that Fandango song because they were bored and were having fun at the company's expense. Vince obviously read it as "THIS GUY IS OVER!"

That was legit one of the funniest moments and sorta foreshadowed Kurt Angle's face turn soon after when he went to Smackdown in order to compete for Batista's vacated WHC. People genuinely liked Angle on top of despising Cena, so they just rolled with it and made him a face.

I feel the Wrestlemania 35 main event could count. Well the fact that a women’s match was maineventing Wrestlemania was awesome the crowd was beyond dead by that point. Add in the weirdness of the botched finish and it made what should have been an awesome moment just feel forced and not real. I was there, and am still very much alive!! 🤣 I said beyond dead so that must mean… YOU’RE A ZOMBIE!

Eddie basically spent the last year of his life putting over Rey as a main eventer. Okay but suddenly being his guardian angel when they hated eachother is the forced part. I know they might not have been best buddies IRL, but did they really hate each other behind the scenes? To me, the forced part of the whole "Eddiesploation" storyline was Rey dedicating all his wins to him MONTHS after Eddie blackmailed him for his bed troubles and even tried to take custody of Dominic. I guess dying heals all wounds. Another one I'll add to this thread is all those Royal Rumble "save spots." They were cool and unique at first(I especially enjoyed John Morrison's parkour spot), but they've been overdone throughout the past decade(especially by Kofi) that they don't feel cool anymore. It's like they're running out of ideas on how to squeeze in that spot.

DDP turning heel out of nowhere in 1999 felt extremely forced. Here is this beloved babyface who finally wins the big one. Now boo him and instead cheer...Kevin Nash...who turned heel four months ago?

Eddie basically spent the last year of his life putting over Rey as a main eventer. Okay but suddenly being his guardian angel when they hated eachother is the forced part. The entire backing behind the storyline was that Eddie and Rey were friends and Eddie was angry he couldn't beat Rey so he betrayed his friend and his family.

I felt that the company was trying to kill it by having one of the lamest people in the company telling the crowd how cool it is to do the Fandango I always thought the opposite. They most likely felt, that by having a beloved wrestler like Lawler say it, that people would continue to think it's cool. WWE has always felt that if they said something was cool, than others would think it's cool...despite the fact that the WWE is like that 48 year old uncle, who hangs around the teenagers at family reunions & think they're cool.

WWE trying to turn Brock heel by saying he was lazy, never showed up, and had really short matches. Also, trying to do a heel Brock promo for the Goldberg Survior Series match in Minnesota.

Yeah, Lawler has been beloved by the audience at large for years ... so yeah they likely were going for a this legend likes it... so you should too.

The Rock squashing Erick Rowan just to set a Wrestlemania Record. And to a lesser extent, the obsession over Wrestlemania Records.

Eddie basically spent the last year of his life putting over Rey as a main eventer. I remember reading reports that they were eyeing Rey as a main eventer *before* Eddie died. Now, the actual push he got was....something.... and we can debate if being World Champion was in the cards before Eddie died, but Rey was headed to the main event either way
