This is awesome news. Given the incredible depths Big Finish has gotten with Doctor Who, Blake's Seven, the Avengers, and others, more entertainment franchises should be hopping on the audio drama train. Graphic Audio has done some excellent radio adaptations of comic stories, including a fantastic distilled adaptation of No Man's Land a few years ago so getting the original cast from TAS would only make that experience better.
(Also because Bruce Timm's not writing it, no chance of a Barbara/Bruce romance, so that's nice).

Being by Alan Burnett's a good sign, though I do have a pretty hard time being that interested in it on paper just from the format. Kind of just not my thing.

Burnette and Dino had a shaky couple of issues with the recent Batman: TAS revival comic, but that got better and now I prefer it to the mainline Bat books, so I definitely have confidence in this.

I've been hearing about other audio dramas in the works, as well, and this is kind of an interesting development. It does make a lot of sense, though, particularly with the popularity of podcasts. People are a lot more receptive to this kind of thing than maybe ever before.

They keep giving us DCAU set comic books, Kevin Conroy as Batman in other stuff, and now a radio drama.
Just do like Disney is doing with X-Men and bring the f***ing show back.

BTAS is my favourite Batman, but why don't we let the property rest. If I want more BTAS, I can simply watch Superman, Justice League, JLU, and Batman Beyond, or I can read the dozens of comics that have been made. Trotting Kevin Conroy out for yet another Batman yarn veers into Lethal Weapon getting too old for this shit territory, which is very sad because it's what so much of the fandom precisely wants.

I just hope that they're actually gonna tell Batman: TAS stories through this, and not use it as a way to try to squeeze things like Hush and Jason Todd into a timeline that they just don't fit in.

My own perspective is I want more pure BTAS as I couldn't possibly care less about Superman, Justice League, JLU, or Batman Beyond, and I don't particularly want to read a comic. Ultimately though, the material has to be good. Conroy, getting old in the tooth as his is, can still go, but if the writing isn't up to par then it's not worth doing.

With the art being such an important part of what made the series successful, I’m not really sold on this.
Sure it’ll be good, but it’s not really the same, innit

Honestly Beyond ends up being such a downer ending to the show in a lot of respects that I feel like, yeah, if you want to do more with it you really probably should just make it clear very early in that you're not paying any mind to it. Beyond's a great show and all but it'd be hard to continue really telling meaningful new stories in this universe while the entire time having the looming future that ultimately Bruce winds up a lonely old man who's alienated everyone he was ever close to, Tim gets horrifically traumatized, the Joker dies horribly, Bane ends up a withered up vegetative husk, Mr. Freeze ends up locked in a backroom for decades then kills himself, Talia's body is stolen by Ra's, Superman ends up being possessed for years on end by Starro, and ultimately Gotham ends up being substantially worse off than it was when Bruce started. The show just casts a really depressing shadow over the original series.

I think the ending of JLU actually sets up retconning the Beyond timeline, seeing as John Stewart refuses to play destiny's puppet and reconcile with Hawkwoman, which would have led to the birth of Warhawk. Bruce also has existing knowledge of his future, and I think he would have done something to change it.
