I’ve been stressing a little bit about this lately. Back on 12/2 I placed an order during a holiday sale with a fairly small merchant. I just noticed yesterday that they never charged my card. I contacted their customer service department yesterday and they e-mailed me back this morning that my card was processed and I also got an automated message that my order has now been approved for shipment.
However, when I check my credit card there is still no charge from the merchant. I used this company one other time without issue. Also between 12/2 and today I was unexpectedly issued a new card which I activated before I noticed that, that merchant didn’t charge me. I mentioned that in my initial message to the merchant, but this was not addressed as they just said they were able to put my order through.
I’m not worried about being ripped off or anything. I still really want what I ordered and was hoping to get it for the price offered. I’m more worried that there will be a hiccup like the seller notices that the charge didn’t go through after all or something.

Things sometimes vanish and reappear. I have ordered things and there was a pending charge that then disappeared then a day or 2 later the charge was back and no longer pending. Something like that may be up just without the initial pending part.

Perhaps they didn't charge it until the item shipped?

Perhaps they didn't charge it until the item shipped? It was definitely a weird process. The first time I purchased from them they charged the same day even though they didn’t ship the same day. Then the item went out within a few days. So nothing weird there. This time they just sent an automated message. Nothing happened for about a week. I contacted their customer support and they said the order was just pushed through. Then I got a message saying it was processed and ready for shipping. Still no actual shipping info though. They’re in the middle of a big holiday sale though so I’m thinking things are just really backed up or something.
