At least once if given the right material. If you say no remember Pat Morita was nominated for the Karate Kid.
I say Mark Hamill can get a nod if someone puts him in a role that has the prestige

Diedrich Bader. He's intelligent, likable, and has phenomenal comedic delivery. He's made a good living for a long time doing mostly comedic roles, but many comedians with depth have delivered in dramatic roles. If he was given a role that was 80% serious and 20% comedy instead of the inverse, I think he'd nail it. Which he has kinda done with some of his voice over work, including Batman and Bojack Horseman.
Also, similar but to a much lesser degree obviously, Conan O'Brien. Never an Oscar, but I think in the right supporting role in a drama, he'd shine. Very Bob Odenkirk vibes.

Had John Candy lived longer and gotten the chance to do more dramatic work, I think he had a hell of a shot at getting an Oscar nod (either as best actor or best supporting).

Don Knotts. He won a bunch of Emmys as Barney Fife, and that was mostly for his comedy chops, but he there was some real pathos to the character that he conveyed with his acting.

There've been a couple instance where Adam Sandler should have been nominated: Punch Drunk Love and Uncut Gems.

Think Ozark has shown that dramatic work might have been Jason Bateman’s true calling.

I think said it in the “What if” thread, about what if John Belushi would have lived. Because he died so young and his image is died down to loud over the top characters, that sometimes people forget how tremendous of an actor he was. He was an actor who had the commitment to do just about anything. So I actually feel if he had cleaned up and lived, he could have pulled off great dramatic parts. The same goes for John Candy and Chris Farley. They died way too young but I feel also had that potential, especially Candy who was already starting to do more dramatic comedy movies and some straight up dramas like JFK.

Some are dead now, but I always thought it would be cool if someone did a drama starring Adam Sandler, Dustin Diamond, Carrot Top, and Paul Shore. Like they play scumbbag bank robbers or something.

Will Ferrell could pull it off. His performance in the Lego Movie as the father convinced me that he could do well in a serious role. Not his performance as Lord Business, that was pure Ferrell comedy. Thing is, once someone like Ferrell goes dramatic, it's really hard for them to go back to comedic roles.

I really, really liked Ferrell in Stranger Than Fiction, though it wasn't a full-on dramatic role.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened had Leslie Nielsen made a u-turn back into more serious roles. Probably wouldn't have happened because he enjoyed comedy too much, but I think he was probably a better actor than we'll know.
