As noted by her son on Anne’s Facebook.

That's awful. The first 4 Vampire Chronicles books are terrific.

A modern mistress of the horror and vampire genre. She'll be missed.

I'll have a bit of a display tribute to put together when I go back into work Monday.

Damn, RIP. I grew up loving Interview With A Vampire. Looking back, it's a shame what has happened to the vampire genre since then.

apple.news/A3DF0L_YfTymLZhcSEk2KugKnowing days like this would come does not make them easier. Personally, I’m devastated. Anne’s writing filled a big period of my life in the late 90s. I still fondly remember the four or five days of non-stop reading to get through The Witching Hour (still my favorite of hers) and how the room reeking of ink from SO many printed pages. I sincerely hope she has found what she always looked for and she is with Stan and Michele again.

I wasn't a fan of her stance on and reaction to fandom works, though she mellowed out on that later in life, at least. But she was a huge influence on a lot of modern gothic horror literature and did a lot for her home city of New Orleans. RIP.

I admit her stances of fanworks soured my opinion on her without ever reading her works, but I do feel for her fans and family, even if I feel nothing personally.

Stroke?
I thought only a stake or sunlight would take her out.
