I didn't follow him closely, I admit, but knew the name going back to NWA Wildside. Being in early TNA shows he appears a lot in Marky D's videos, so I've seen highlights from his matches lately... and in fact Marky/Hawk was raising funds for Jimmy too.
It's just eerie that him and Melissa Coates had similar situations and they're both gone shortly after.
RIP.

Jeez, this really sucks to hear. I know he was suffering so maybe this is for the best, but it still doesn’t make it easier for his friends, family and fans.
Hope he is at peace now.

I mostly knew him from the Rock and Rave Infection in TNA, and I always enjoyed the gimmick and wished they’d get a push. Awful to see this.

I knew he had been in poor health for some time, but this still sucks.
I used to really enjoy The Embassy act back in the day when I first got into ROH.
RIP.

Hearing about all his health issues recently, I sadly cannot say I’m completely surprised by this.
Such a tragedy. RIP Jimmy.

I'm not that familiar with him but it was so sad to see him go a piece at a time.

Tragic. I liked his Embassy character in ROH.

Guy should be a good hand in a major promotion nowadays. Instead, we had a spiral of drugs, infections leading to amputations and now dead. Just, f*** man.
RIP.

Such a sad story. I felt so bad that he had to go through what he did, losing both legs and an arm. That was hard to see him go through it. RIP Jimmy.

Back in March 2020, and I'll still never understand why, maybe it was because I trained around the same geographical location, or maybe because he saw we had numerous wrestling contacts in common on Facebook & Twitter, Jimmy came to me for help, financial help for medical bills. At first, I was skeptic, because I knew that there were people who exist that would use his circumstances to extort the trusting, and the thing was, I wanted to help immediately, because that's the type of person I am, enemy or friend, if you need genuine help, I'll do whatever I can. I made sure it was Jimmy with a few wrestling questions only he would know.
It was Jimmy alright, but the thing was that by myself, anything I gave would be meager compared to the bigger picture. So, I figured I can use whatever influence and platform I have to bring attention to his situation to a much wider audience, podcast plugs, bringing Jimmy on my podcast so it could come straight from him, calling in favors for other podcasters to do the same, I felt with the ability to do anything, I had the responsibility to do something. I was ready to basically launch a campaign to help him because, above all else, it was the right thing to do.
I still have our exchange of messages, and I don't know why, after my suggestion, (and I'm sure others had the same suggestion, as Jimmy would do something like this after his second and third surgeries later in the year, on a more direct approach, which gained some traction) he just didn't respond. As someone who has been in recovery from addiction, I felt an even stronger desire to help at the time, and I feel absolutely devastated now.
Jimmy, wherever you are, I know you're now resting easy. Rest in peace and paradise, Jimmy Rave. I'll see you in the next life.
