It's a shame that Jimmy Rave had to go through everything he's dealt with in recent years. He was a very talented wrestler and just an entertaining guy overall. He's no longer in pain and no longer suffering. RIP Jimmy Rave

RIP. Amazing talent. Very tragic story. A great reason for us to be kind to each other. You never know what tomorrow brings.

He'd been through so much, and just kept going, even with setbacks, the dude kept on. I was always hoping things would get better for him. And they just never seemed to.
RIP Jimmy.

This is tragic. My condolences to those closest to him. Rest in peace, Jimmy Rave.

So sad. I’ll always be a fan of his Ring Of Honor work with The Embassy, toilet paper and all. R.I.P. Jimmy Rave.

Sucks man... I talked to him a few times on Facebook. Genuinely good dude, had nothing but love, put Lance Archer over as a giant teddy bear
He was making a wrestling comeback before the injuriws ans infection... I hope he's in a better place now. RIP

I hope Lance Archer hits someone with a toilet paper wrapped Guitar Hero controller in his honor.

I've been watching some of his stuff from the mid 2000s. Dude just had it. If there was an AEW or pre-2021 NXT around back then with national exposure, he would've been a star. Still frustrating that TNA never could quite figure out what to do with him (an issue they had with many guys).

He was only familiar with Rave's TNA run. I told him he missed all the good stuff in ROH.

So sad, immensely talented. As people have said his work with The Embassy was his best period. Could make the argument around 2006 that he was perhaps among the best heels in wrestling.

I hate to say that I thought this might happen when he lost his legs...
Poor guy.
Safe travels, Jimmy.

It really is heartbreaking on every level. Jimmy was one of the first guys I really paid attention to who was a case of struggling as a babyface but then absolutely skyrocketing as a heel, but he didn't do it by playing "cool" or whatever, he did it by being an utterly loathsome jerk. He and Prince Nana introduced me to the concept of the heel I loved to hate; I seriously loved their act and the entire Embassy, but when I'd go to live ROH events there was no greater feeling than drowning them with boos and watching them react like good slimy heels should.
I still remember the negative reaction people had early in his heel run when CM Punk put him over; Punk was fresh off the Samoa Joe trilogy, and suddenly he's putting over Jimmy Rave? Gabe must be losing it! But nope, shock of shocks, the company knew what they had and Jimmy and Nana became one of the most over acts in the company.
But I also still remember being at a show in New Jersey and watching him throw up a bit during the middle of a match; later in the show people saw him basically storming out of the venue, and were wondering if there was some kind of work going on to match with his tweaked gimmick at that point (Nana had left for awhile and they played up Jimmy kind of sinking low into a sort of "I probably have bodies buried in my backyard" type). Knowing what we know now, it was likely indicative of the struggles he was going through, and it hurts to think back on.
Fully agreed that he should've been able to make it elsewhere, whether in TNA or anywhere else. At first he wasn't the smoothest promo, but he clearly had a great mind for wrestling and for how to present himself to an audience, and that could've translated anywhere. Put him in today's industry and he's likely at least a solid midcard heel hand in AEW, and hopefully with a strong support group to get him through his troubles given how much more of a light the industry has tried to shine on that of late. Ugh, just sucks.

It is so sad, but once I saw the news a few weeks back that he had lost his legs, I just thought it was a matter of time. As others have said, a hell of a talent that I really didn't see much of until way way after the fact.
