Didn’t see one booking sheet come across our desks here at FAN World Headquarters… Probably for the best, to be honest, you think Vince is a bad booker, wait until you see me with the pen. Oh, baby.
But yeah, quick fix didn’t work, who knew? Whole thing requires an honest long-term effort, even if people are too burned to buy into it straight away or even at all as long as the inner sanctum remains as it is.

I'm clearly not the Authority because if I was, Drew McIntyre would have won the Royal Rumble, squashed Brock Lesnar inside 3 minutes at WrestleMania and had a near year long run with the WWE Champions...
Bad example.

The real hell with these quick fix short term empty promises is that they're long-term damage, because you hurt audience trust and you whittle away at their belief that you will ever change. It's the same with their nostalgia rating stunts. Raw 25 was a mess of a show, but most vitally, it was so bad that it hurt the nostalgia show bump for every time they've tried it since. All WWE cared about in the short term was tryin to stem the bleeding on a massive, record-setting loss. Three years later, ratings are worse than what they were panicking over. It was just empty manipulation, plain and simple. Nothing changed, nothing got better, nothing was any different. They even kept pushing Baron Corbin, who they blamed for the troubles. It's insulting to the audience's intelligence, and it's cost them a lot of trust. Not everyone's. But enough that three years out, they would kill for the ratings they got in the run-up to this panic move, and there's got to be a correlation in there.

The biggest lie the devil ever told was that he listens to the fans.

So much has changed since then. That episode also had Rollins and Ambrose feuding over the IC title if I remember right.

To be fair to WWE, they did hand over total control to us then, it's just that most of us chose to leave.

WWE has gone full Wall Street and full WCW/TNA. Everything is short sighted. On the business side everything is next quarters numbers. They have to look good. If you are slightly in the red cut some contracts. Even if one is a big merch seller that would pay his contract several times over. All that matters is next quarters numbers. And on the creative side there is no long term planning. Just like WCW or TNA they just try to pop a rating with cheap stunts. Stunts that may be damaging to you long term but who cares. With Vinces ADD getting worse at his age he may not be capable of understanding it anymore.
