And the champions were the New Age Outlaws?

To be fair they weren't over at all from like 2010 to 2013. I think it was late 2013 during the Bryan v Authority when fans actually started taking to them and they built some momentum then they won the titles a few months later.

I loved this period of The Usos. It felt like they finally had the pieces together and the fans took them enough to warrant a push.
I've brought this up a few times now, so sorry for repeating myself, but The Usos have had a prolific list of 'old school' opponents they've faced off with: The New Age Outlaws, The Dudleys, The Hardyz, The Headbangers, Evolution (Batista/Orton), etc. Then there are the more modern memorable tag team opponents like Team Hell No, Cody/Goldust, The Wyatt Family, The Shield, The New Day, etc. Guys that in 5-6 years will seem like legendary duos themselves. They have a genuine shot at being one of the top tag teams ever. It's a shame we didn't get DX vs The Usos at one of the Saudi shows or if Christian stayed Edge & Christian vs The Usos nowadays.

So wild to think they've been on the roster for over a decade now.
I still remember the Raw where they debuted with Tamina and attacked the Hart Dynasty.

Yeah, it is crazy to think how lost in the shuffle The Usos were until they came out with the face paint and the war chant and started to really get over
Even then, they didn't even get a Mania match until a few years ago

The Usos through several different emobidments have proven how much better a tag team is when they have personalities.

I was at the RAW after Elimination Chamber when they squashed the Outlaws in about eight seconds or something like that.

I'm still baffled Cryme Time never won the tag belts despite being practically the only tag team at the time.

So wild to think they've been on the roster for over a decade now. I still remember the Raw where they debuted with Tamina and attacked the Hart Dynasty. Nearly 12 years in Vince McMahon’s WWE, and the only time they’ve come close to breaking up was when Jimmy came back from injury and was trying to talk Jey into seeing sense about how Reigns was using him… Before arbitrarily joining in because Jey was away a few weeks and they needed Jimmy to take Jey’s bumps.

I get it took a while for fans to warm up to them and I’ll admit they’re more charismatic now probably, but I legit enjoyed the face paint Uso era because they were still an engaging tag team even at that period.

Oh, babyface Usos with the paint and the siva tau was hot fire. I mean, once they got the opportunity for it in 2013/2014, they were booked strong and had increasingly great matches. It's just a shame they lost the crowd along the way, because... What, because they were friendly with Reigns at his most hated? Because they didn't drop the belts to Harper and Rowan? There's always a lot said about how crowds turned on Cena and Reigns, but it happened with The Usos too, and it might be something worth talking about.

When you give talented people time to develop, they’ll figure it out and be great.
Who’d a thunk? Wish more people got that chance.

Now I wish they'd lose them and not win them back for at least 4 years!

It was just they would come out do the Siva Tau and wrestle matches that really didn't seem to matter cause outside of the Siva Tau they didn't get to show a ton of personality. I mean anyone who says that the Usos were never over until the big heel turn is just incorrect... if anything they're poster boys for why your people need personalities and occasional updates to keep them fresh.

Wasn't their original gimmick basically a rejection of the whole 'face paint and war dance' aesethetic? I swear remembering them cutting a promo where they talked about respecting their family but they weren't going to do the stereotypical Samoan wrestler stuff.

From what I remember the original promo was focused more on rejecting like the Umaga style uneducated savage stuff. Maybe they mentioned the dancing but I don't particularly remember... and if they did it's kinda strange since like... every Samoan sports team does the Siva Tau >_>
