The Luger thing was reported in a New York paper's gossip column, I forget which one. It's BS but not BS that can be blamed on Keith. Lemme guess...The Slammer?

No, an actual gossip column.

Eric Bischoff was a booker for AWA in its dying days and came up with the Team Challenge Series. It took Bischoff's book to kill that narrative.

"Ole Anderson was a lousy booker."
The argument for this is always, when you get right down to it, The Black Scorpion.
According to Ole's book, the Black Scorpion began as a joke that Jim Herd told him to actually run with.
Herd kept telling him, "We need something new," so he wrote "the Black Scorpion" on a booking sheet as a joke. Herd said, "That's great, use that!" Ole tried explaining that he couldn't because there was no Black Scorpion, it was just a name. Herd replied, "Yeah, but it's a great name! Use it!"
Ole was fired before the Flair reveal, and when asked who it was going to be, said he didn't know and didn't give a shit. Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone have talked about booking TV because Ole flatly told them if they didn't, there wouldn't be TV.
Checked out? Absolutely. But the guy who booked in 1990 with an interfering Jim Herd and TBS corporate structure over his head is not the same guy who successfully booked for Jim Crockett Promotions and Georgia Championship Wrestling AT THE SAME TIME.

Ole at one time was a strong booker, but he lost his fastball long before the Black Scorpion. John McAdam's old tape listings would absolutely lambaste 1984 Georgia--that territory was circling the drain before Black Saturday.

I've heard people on the so called "internet" say that Christopher Daniels is Curry Man. This is a lie.

A few common ones:
Orton didn't shit in a woman's gear bag. She said in an interview that he "put shit" in her bag, which was apparently lotion and a bunch of other stuff, and people misinterpreted it. You're thinking of X-Pac, who freely admits to doing it to Sable and Mero on the UK show before they both quit.
Batista didn't have an affair with Melina. This one keeps getting spread around because of the TV angle, and that he's said before he had a fling with Rosa Mendes, but he called her by her real name Milena Roucka.

People also seem to think that nobody cared about Lex at all during his face run. He got cheers but the people liked other faces more. It didn’t help that he had 1/10th of the charisma that Hulk had, Therein was the problem: they literally tried to make him Hulk Hogan, and assume the USA gimmick on its own would make the fans accept him as such. He didn’t have the intangibles that made Hogan the biggest name in wrestling for a decade. Thing is, they made him MORE cheesy than Hogan ever was. First off, Hogan might have waved the flag, he never used it as gear, then there was the stuff like the terrible "Happy Holidays from the Lugars" with them all wearing cheesy xmas sweaters, Lex clearly faking it. Hogan was always big, bombastic, looking to defend people etc. I've felt like the "DIE ROCKY DIE" story (when he was still Rocky the blue chipper) has been grossly over exaggerated almost to the level of "And then DX showed up with a Tank and killed WCW" In my opinion, a lot of people just didn't care about the dude. He didn't connect at all with the audience. There might have been a small handful of people that actively hated him and had a couple signs, but the vast overall fan reaction to him was "whatever he's lame". Much more "piss break dude" than "we actively hate this dude" heat. Although now that I've said it, it's probably more the WWE blowing it out of proportion rather than the IWC doing it. There was probably A sign that said it, so this is more of a "Cane Dewey" thing, taking 1 random bit that's catchy and memorable and making it part of your reasoning. Backlund's first title run was mentioned all the time during his 1992-1997 run. When he first returned as a babyface, they hyped him as a former WWF Champion looking to regain the title. Later, his loss to Iron Sheik was constantly shown and credited as the true catalyst for his heel turn. I take your word for it. I just can’t remember a lick of it. 😂 They totally mentioned it every week, played the clip loads, one of the people on Bob's path of destruction was his manager Arnold Skaaland for throwing in the towel, that's why there was that special stipulation at Survivor Series, it's the finish of Bob losing to Sheiky.

“Bobby Herman ruined the Hogan heel turn by asking what side he’s on.”
The way this small, off-the-cuff remark that barely anyone even thought about at the time has been phrased as this major botch really bugs me.

Hogan was always big, bombastic, looking to defend people etc. I was thinking this. Hogan came off like a real person who just happened to be a patriot. He was never the cheesy lawful good babyface that they made Luger either. His alignment was more chaotic good, not afraid to break the rules or be a little selfish, and that made him believable. Luger was like a character from a Saturday morning cartoon show, when in fact his popularity pre-WWF largely stemmed from being more of a shades of gray character who would change teams but never really changed personas.

I remember that CM Punk LiveJournal well. It's still a funny read, minus him using the R-word like 40 times.

Batista definitely had a thing with Melina (Perez) for a while. He talks about it in his book. I don't know if it was an affair though. Melina and Morrison might not have been together at the time.
